“I’m not a good cook myself but you’re a worse case. I’d say your cooking taste’s much like that woman’s.”

Denise’s brows pulled together. A woman? She wondered if he was referring to his mother but she didn’t voice her curiosity. He seemed to dislike talking about his family, based on his physical behaviour when he mentioned his father earlier. Seeing as he killed him, perhaps they had some bad blood? Or if she were to guess, she’d say he simply hated his family for no good reason…considering his personality.

Kain moved over to the overhead cupboard and took out his smallest rice cooker. He settled it on the counter and turned to her. Seeing her curious expression, he sighed. “I was talking about my mother.” He clarified, “When she did touch the kitchen, this…” he gestured to the things on the counter. “…was almost always what she’d make. It got to the point where I threw up a few times. I still despise having had to force it down.”
