5. A blessing or a disgrace?

The changes must have been done by that sly Lucy or Glen's men.

Looking at one of the replaced frames with Lucy's image beside Glen, Loki couldn't help but wonder why he had to choose a woman whose face and hair was exactly like hers. If he now hated her as it seems, why was he with her doppelganger? His defense of Lucy being perfect in his eyes didn't make sense to Loki at all.

However, within her, Loki had an answer to her own question. And though the answer was clear in her heart, she didn't want to think of it.

Removing her gaze from their photo frame, she turned to return to the master bedroom and pack up her things when her eyes caught something familiar in the trashcan nearby.

Loki bent down slowly to take a closer look when she discovered a burnt part of her wedding photos with Glen. Stunned into disbelief at the sight, she found out more evidence that showed that all the photos of her with Glen had been burnt to ashes and dumped in the trashcan. Also, she realized that it was not just the frames, but all their photo albums together had been burnt down.

"Have you always been this heartless, Glen Robertson?" A sob caught in her throat but she tried her best not to cry again.

It was clear now that the only photos of herself with Glen that existed were the ones in her phone and the ones that had been manipulated before it was ever released on the internet.

A thought occurred to Loki the moment she was back in the master bedroom. She quickly reached for her phone from her jacket pocket and went to her gallery. Her gallery that had been mostly dominated by photos of herself and Glen had been manipulated too. The only photos in sight were photos of her only.

"He went as far as even hacking my phone too?" Loki couldn't believe how diligent Glen had been in making sure to wipe out all traces that ever existed as prove that she had been married to him.

How could a man she's loved so much betray her trust and hurt her like this? The tears she had been trying to stop from flowing out easily rolled down her cheeks. What he's done to her so far was beyond redemption. And although her heart had been shattered beyond repair by his actions so far, Loki hated the part of her that still yearned for him.

She observed that all her things had been packed already into two luggages. It was clear they didn't expect to see her ever again upon their return home.

Just as Loki made to move out with her things, an overwhelming feeling of nausea came upon her and she rushed into the restroom immediately.

She ended up emptying all the contents in her stomach which made her feel even more weak.

As she wiped her mouth, she stared at her reflection in the mirror and mentally cussed herself for being ill suddenly. It was enough that her day was so bad already, how could she add a sudden illness to it?

Her hands clenched tightly against the restroom sink. At this moment, she was helpless and homeless. If she were to leave Glen's apartment now, she had no destination in mind, except to lodge at an hotel temporarily. Thankfully, she still had a little amount left in her bank account.

After a few minutes of more gagging, Loki dragged her nauseated self back to the bedroom. If she were to fall ill it would be better to leave Glen's home immediately. She knew she was weak and helpless as a person without any powerful backing and it was a fact Glen knew. However, she refused to let him see her this weak because of him.

It felt like a better idea to be on the streets and probably die from it than to let herself be ill in a home she was now a stranger in.

The sight of the business card she had received earlier, right beside her bag on the dresser, made Loki felt even more annoyed and irritated.

It was too late already. What good would it bring in connecting with the chairman of Donovan's Group of Companies now, other than unsolicited rivalry and hatred?

She hated his guts for thinking he could easily walk back in her life when he was never there in the first place. As far as her 25 years of life was concerned, Freeman Donovan never existed.

In a fit of rage, Loki reached out her hand to the business card, aiming to tear it into pieces when she halted instantly because something had suddenly glowed brightly inside her bag.

Her brows creased in confusion and wonder as she reached towards her bag to retrieve whatever it was.

Peering curiously into her portable fashion bag, she reached a hand inside and instantly felt a round object within.

She retrieves it and finds out it's a diamond bracelet with her initials on it. 'LRC'. She would have discarded the thought that it had anything to do with her if she hadn't seen her full name engraved in tiny silver letters at the inside of it; Loki Rhiannon Colleen.

Rhiannon was her middle name and Colleen was her mother's surname which she had answered all her life before she got married to Glen Robertson and had to answer his name on papers.

But in her documents from school and college she had always answered her mother's surname. She didn't really go by her ex husband's surname because since she married him, she hadn't ever worked at all. And he had been the one providing all her needs so there really wasn't much opportunities to answer the name, except on papers.

Loki momentarily forgot her pain as she wondered how this exquisite and expensive looking bracelet got into her bag.

Her curoisity was at its peak as she examined its details carefully. Suddenly, it glowed again and Loki could have sworn she heard something in her head when it glowed.

Shocked and confused, she instantly drops it on the dresser and it stopped glowing.

She breathed in and out to steady her self then reached out to touch it again. She wanted to confirm she wasn't imagining things and slowly going crazy too.

But just before she touched it again, another wave of nausea hit her and she hurriedly ran into the restroom again.

The urge to throw up was so intense that Loki hadn't had time to raise and hold her hair from off her face before she began gagging into the toilet bowl.

Moments after she felt a little relieved, a thought instantly occurred to her.

She hadn't seen her period for the last month. And even this month too, it was already way past the date.

Could it be what she was thinking? Her eyes widened as the possible reality of this thought dawned on her.

In an instant, Loki was out of the restroom and immediately in the bedroom to retrieve her pregnancy test strips.

It was inside one of the bedside drawers the last time she checked.

Luckily, it was still there. She retrieves enough strips then hurried back into the restroom.

She wasted no time in testing herself with it and moments later, the result gave her one of the greatest shocks she's had in the entire day.

Loki couldn't believe her eyes so she kept trying and trying and the answer was the same for over ten times.

She was pregnant!

Tears of excitement, confusion, joy and sadness flowed freely out of her eyes as her butt collided with the floor in shock of her situation.

Was this a blessing in disguise or a curse or even a disgrace? Or could it be a last minute miracle?

She and Glen had tried to have a child during the years of their marriage but they hadn't been successful despite all their trials.

But when such blissful luck finally smiles on them, it came at the wrong time and in a wrong situation.

What was she to do?
