As the guards entered Paul’s office, I could hear their muffled voices through the door. “Sir, there’s been some damage to your property,” one of them said. Paul’s voice was angry as he replied, “What? Who did it?”

I knew I had to get out of there fast. My heart was pounding as I made a run for my car, which was parked near the bakery. I fumbled with my keys, trying to unlock the door.

Once I was inside, I let out a sigh of relief and started the engine. But just as I was about to pull out, Paul appeared in front of my car, his face red with anger.

“Stop!” he shouted, banging on the hood of my car. “You can’t just leave like this!”

But I was determined to get away. With a surge of adrenaline, I managed to maneuver my car around him and pull out onto the street. As I drove away, I could see Paul in my rearview mirror, shaking his fist at me.
