Chapter 12 - Pleasure
Athena POV
"I can't believe we're doing this." I groaned as I got out of bed. Phoenix stayed silent as I approached his door.
"If he doesn't answer the first knock, we're turning around and going back to bed," I said, more to myself than her.
"Whatever you say," Phoenix laughed. Her excitement was twisting my stomach in knots. I reached up to the door and tapped gently, hoping he didn't hear it and I could retreat to my warm and safe bed. I waited a moment before letting out a sigh of relief and disappointment. I didn't know why I let her talk me into coming, but at the same time, she didn't really have to do much convincing.

Most wolves passed out and slept for days after a shift. Yet, she was awake and moving around after her first shift. She was strong and resilient.
