7. He's Gone?

Screams, bubbles, fear of losing another family member and many more surrounded me as I struggled for air deep down inside the waters. I kicked my legs, tried to hold my breath, and did everything I could think of but the invisible boulder only pushed me further down into the water, depriving my lungs of air and me, the chance to see if my brother made it out of that rogue ambush, alive.

“It's all my fault,” I thought to myself as I slowly lost the strength to fight, causing me to surrender. “If I had just quietly gone back, Ezekiel wouldn't have taken me to the border. If I had gone back in, he wouldn't have cut me and the rogues wouldn't have traced my blood. It's all my fault. And now because of me, another wolf or more would die…”

A sharp pain from somewhere on my neck forced me to jolt awake, my eyes and mouth opened widely as I gasped for breath and poured a ton of water from my insides while I placed my hand on the tingling area.
