I shifted nervously in my seat as I glanced around the restaurant. She was running late even though she had texted me to say that she was only twenty minutes away. It had taken me three days to build up the courage to call my mother to confront her about the lies I had been told. She had insisted that we meet at this restaurant for lunch so we could talk face to face. Things between Alexander and I were still a bit tense, but he hadn’t been rude or acted like an asshole since our…talk. I hadn’t told him about the lunch with my mother, but Elias knew. He had been the one to call me a taxi and demanded that I call him if something happened. He hadn’t offered to come with me, and I wasn’t sure why it made me feel disappointed. We shared a moment, but whatever happened between us disappeared when Elias left me in that bathroom. I was surprised that he hadn’t told the others about what happened. Maybe he had, and they just didn’t care. Shaking my head, I took a sip of water and p

Goosebumps covered every inch of my skin because of Daisy’s warm breath against my throat. I tried to ignore it. I tried to think of anything other than her warm breath against my skin and her soft body pressed against mine. She was fast asleep with her head resting on my shoulder. Every time I shifted in my seat, her arms would tighten as if she was scared I would leave her.My alpha instincts were urging me to protect the little omega in my lap.“Did we loose them yet?” I asked Stevens. The sooner we got home, the sooner I could hand her over to Elias and force the rising feelings down.“Almost.”I growled. Fucking assholes. At least, there was only a dozen reporters and Stevens managed to scare them off with his nephew’s water gun. Fuck, it’s going to be all over the news.Pursing my lips, I carefully shifted in the seat to pull my phone from my pocket. I called Valiant but the call went straight to voicemail. He was probably busy in court.Elias answered on the first ring. “Is she

Elias looked like he was going to pass out. His skin was paler than normal and clammy. Alexander had to help him out of the truck and into the elevator. The moment he let him go and moved forward to enter the code for the penthouse, Elias slid down to the floor. I wanted to help, but I was unsure what to do. When we arrived at the penthouse, Alexander easily pulled him to his feet. I followed closely behind them as they stumbled down the hall into what had to be Elias’s room. “Pull the covers back,” Alexander ordered. I hurried forward and did as he ordered before I stepped back. Alexander gently lowered Elias to the bed. He gripped the hem of his shirt and tugged it upwards. “Arms up,” he ordered. With a low groan, Elias raised his arms and allowed Alexander to pull off his shirt. I turned away, trying to look at anything but Elias. For some reason, my eyes were drawn to the pale skin. His torso was firm but not overly muscled. But what caught and held my attention were

It was supposed to be my lucky day. I lost the case even though I wore my lucky tie. All the hard work down the fucking drain due to one stupid thing I missed. To make it even worse, I had to find out from a co-worker that Daisy had been caught on camera with Alexander. Paperwork waited for me when I walked out of court. I had to take care of it before I could leave. It was almost midnight when I entered the penthouse. My tie had been removed during the drive home. I lost my jacket on the way up in the elevator and was busy unbuttoning the top buttons of my shirt as I walked through the dark penthouse. There was no lingering smell of a cooked meal waiting for me like there usually was. My brows dipped into a frown when I entered my bedroom. I flicked on the light and dropped my case down on the desk in the corner. Taking a seat on the edge of the bed, I kicked off my shoes and pulled off my socks. A low sound made me pause. Tilting my head to the side, I held my breath to lis

The last thing I remembered before I fell asleep, was Valiant pulling me closer after I finished the bowl of popcorn. I didn’t wake up during the night or suffer from another nightmare. Surprisingly, it was the best damn sleep I’ve had since I arrived at their place. It shocked me when I started to wake up and realized that I was sandwiched between two hard bodies. There was an arm resting across my hips and something long and hard pressed against my ass.I had read enough books to know that it was someone’s morning wood. But whose?Frowning, I opened my eyes and blinked at the face resting on the pillow only a few inches from mine.My eyes darted over his face and then lowered to linger on his parted lips. He was so close that I could feel his warm breath fanning my skin.“You snore.”I blinked at him.His lips curled up into a smile and a moment later his eyes fluttered open. “Good morning.”“Are you feeling better?” I asked him.“Yes, thank you. Alex told me that you took good care

I still felt sick but it didn’t feel like the walls were closing in on me again. To see that video again after years…it made me realize that I should have looked at it when they asked me to. There had been weeks after I woke up in the hospital where they asked me the same questions over and over again, where they had forced me to look at that video. When it was over, I swore to myself that I would never set eyes on it again because the trauma was too much. But it was all different now. Not only was Daisy a grown woman, but she was living with us and her story was once again being shown all over the news channels. It might seem as if she didn’t care about it, but I saw right through her facade. The fear was there in the slight tremble of her hands and the way she chewed on her lip. Or the way her eyes darted around the room every few seconds to make sure that somebody wasn’t going to sneak up on her. Valiant was still on the phone, making calls to a few of his contacts to see i

I shouldn’t have said that. My face was on fire from embarrassment. In my head, things had gone a lot different, much smoother. “Forget I said anything,” I muttered as I spun around and hurried back to my room. I kicked the door closed behind me and hurried towards the nest where I could hide for the rest of the day. Just as I pulled the secret book back, my bedroom door opened. “We haven’t finished our conversation, Daisy,” Elias growled. “You don’t want it so it doesn’t matter.”“I didn’t say that. You just caught me off guard.” He frowned. “I didn’t expect you to walk up to me and tell me that you want me to take your virginity. I certainly didn’t expect you to actually take up Alex’s offer.”“It’s the closest I’ll ever get to experience things girls my age do,” I told him honestly. “You seem to be sure that John won’t have the money in a month.”Elias ran a hand through his hair. “Are you sure about this Daisy? I don’t want you to regret this.”“I won’t.” I didn’t sound as co

I kept telling myself that the interview went well. They asked Alex a bunch of questions that I didn’t even think of when I wrote the little speech for him. They asked him questions about Daisy’s kidnapping and Elias’s involvement. We hadn’t expected them to ask about that. I tugged at my tie as we stepped into the elevator. “That was a fucking disaster,” Alex growled. “Yeah,” I agreed. “I hope they took my hesitation to their questions as a sign that I know shit about the little omega I ‘rescued’ from the cafe,” he muttered. “This was a stupid plan. I thought if I did this, it would make them forget about what happened but it feels like I made things worse.” I nodded. We just dug a bigger hole for ourselves. “Do you think they were watching the interview?” That reminded me…I pulled my phone out of my pocket and checked the text I received while we were setting up for the interview. “Probably not,” I muttered. “They seem to be otherwise occupied.” I turned the phone

I was starting to rethink things. When I made the suggestion of having some fun with Daisy while I waited for John to pay me back, it was with the thought that she was an experienced woman. But I couldn’t have been more wrong. She was basically still a kid. Okay, so she was eighteen and was more mature than any other eighteen-year-olds I knew, but it didn’t change the fact that she was still young and inexperienced. So fucking inexperienced. “Why didn’t you tell me that she’s a virgin when we talked this morning?” I asked Elias. He only glanced at me before focusing his attention back on the TV. “What does it matter? Virgin or not, it won’t change anything.”“It changes a lot,” I growled. “Like the fact that you’re second-guessing things now that it’s getting serious?”Valiant scoffed. “Serious? We’ve exchanged a few kisses. It gets serious when we finally get her naked and in our bed.”I rubbed a finger against my lips as I silently watched him through narrowed eyes. Valiant

I rubbed my chest with a shaky hand. My breathing had calmed down but my heart was still racing a mile a minute. Kissing Elias had been nice. Kissing Valiant was great. But kissing Alex…I hadn’t been prepared for the reaction his kiss caused. A soft knock on the door made my body jerk in fright. I jumped to my feet and spun around. Elias hovered in the doorway, brows dipped into a frown. “I just wanted to check on you. Are you okay?”I nodded. His eyes dropped to my hand. “Alex can be a little intense. Did he scare you?”Swallowing, I hesitated a moment and then answered him. “It scared me. I wasn’t expecting it to be so…intense.”Elias entered the room. He took a seat on the edge of the bed and grabbed hold of my wrist to pull me between his parted legs. His hands dropped to grip my hips. “I know that everyone is different but I have to ask you this. Have you ever been on any suppressants?” “Erika asked me the same thing along with a few other questions before we decided on a
