"Maya?" There was a knock at the door but no answer came from her. "Maya?" Jordan continued to knock profusely, letting his frustration be felt through the weight of his knocks. He hadn't slept at all last night, thoughts of the crazy scene tortured him. Things were not going according to plan and the way in which everything spiraled out of control was something he hadn’t had the chance to wrap his head around.  His anger for the situation they were in was compromising his effectiveness to solve problems. He was angry at his brother for allowing himself to get caught up with a girl he barely even knew. Reid was never so...reckless.  He was angry because he knew his brother needed this. Needed Maya. Although their time together was brief and had left no room for either of them to get to know each other. Jordan knew tha

"What do you mean I'm on a plane flying over the ocean?" Maya was completely confused, a) because of the medication she was given and b) because it didn't look she was on a plane, or feel like it for that matter. Sliding up into a seat position Maya scanned her surroundings, all around her the colors of cream and beige danced on the walls and on all of the furniture.  Beneath her were white, soft sheets - crafted by angel hands. The blanket covering her was a shiny black color. The material itself felt like silky dog hair, its weird but thats what it felt like. The room had a hint of vanilla in the air as well as cinnamon. She was in heaven, the calming nature of everything left her body at ease but the only thing that prevented her from fully relaxing was the man that sat staring at her.  "You need to leave me al

"The poor girl must be freezing."  "I gave her clothes, but she didn't want the ones I picked out."  "You never had good taste." "Psht, please, my style is impeccable."  "Always so humble Reid." With the conversation buzzing all around her, Maya found it hard to keep her eyes closed and her mind asleep. Pealing one eye open, she assessed where she was. The room was bright with a copious amount of light streaming in. It took everything in her not to close her eyes. The memories of the whole days events slowly came back and settled in her mind.  "Oh look she's wa

Maya didn't realize how much she had wanted to kiss Reid. But averting her eyes from his pouty pink lips she looked deeply into his brown orbs and whispered again "you won't" the look in her eyes was one of promise. She knew she shouldn't have made a promise like that but Reid looked like he was torturing himself. And the truth was she couldn't let him continue doing that to himself. Even after all the terrible things he had done to her and all the things he had put her through, she just didn't have the heart to let him be in that sort of pain. He had walked around with the guilt of his family for thirteen years and there was no way she was going to let him walk around with the guilt of her involvement.  "I think you should go" Reid whispered, looking away from her. His voice faltered for a moment but he had already chained himself to self pity and self loathing and he didn’t need Ma

What are you thinking about?" Maya asked, looking up at Reid. They were both snuggled together on Reid's bed. His eyes were closed and he had a small smile on his face. Maya had never seen him that relaxed and careless since she had met him, it was a really nice thing to see, especially with everything that's going on. His body was lying carelessly on the bed, with his one strong arm wrapped around Maya's frame and the other leisurely supporting his head. He looked 'chill' and that was definitely not a word used to describe Reid.   "Nothing." He spoke barely above a whisper, making no move to open his eyes or change his position.   "Don't lie" Maya pressed for more information, as much as she had been restraining herself in the past, when it came to Reid, she was now not worried about pretences. "I want to know what's goi

"Fucking shit man!" Maya cried out clutching her arm to her body "bloody fucking hell, are you fucking serious Reid?" Reid was conflicted, he didn't think his shoulder lock was on tight enough to actually dislocate her shoulder, he thought he could just hold it long enough for her to feel some pain and then give up. The outcome was completely opposite of what he intended. A part of him felt terrible for her and that he was the cause of it but another part of him – the scared part of him – was happy he did it cause at least now she'd never want to fight again.  "I didn't think I was holding you tightly enough for that to happen." Reid explained "I am soo sorry" Riley, Joel and

There was something so freeing about having made Reid pass out. Maya felt like she was on cloud nine, conquering the big bad wolf. Effectively putting him in his place, it never got old.   Once Reid came to, Maya was already in her room, getting ready for family lunch. It was currently Friday and in the short time that she had spent with the Dawson family the more she missed her own. "I want to go out tonight..." Riley thought out loud as Maya was putting on a different change of clothes.   "Go out?" Hazel eyes lit up making them change to a green glow. Maya was very interested in that "out where?"   "We can go to a club or something" Riley shrugged, not really sure of the hot spots around their area. To be honest, it has been a while since Riley and Joel

"Maya!" Reid yelled over the chaos, music was still pounding through the speakers and people were screaming for their lives. It was a gruesome scene, bodies laid all over the floor. Some people had died and others you could tell were pretending to be dead, trying their best not to make a move but anyone with eyes could see the heavy breathing and in some cases, bodies shaking out of fear.  "You and Riley continue to look for Maya in here, Joel and I will look outside!" Jordan shouted at Reid "bring her back brother"  With a nod and Riley following right behind him, Reid walked with sure steps and moved people out of his way trying to find his girl. They had had such a great night before all of this madness happened. But you see that's what Vermont does, that's what happened with Rosey. He waited till Reid was absolutely ena

Reid had gone to bed with the biggest smile on his face, it really did grow ear to ear. He couldn't stop it, he was smiling so big that his cheeks ached at the movement. But that ache was all forgotten the moment he thought about why he was smiling so much. Maya was tucked by his side, innocently sleeping and everything was okay. They weren't fighting each other, they weren't fighting anyone. For the first time in what felt like months - but was probably a couple of weeks - Reid felt hope that Maya felt every bit intoxicated with him as he felt with her. Stealing one more glance at the beauty beside him, he adjust the pillow and fell into a peaceful slumber. Eyes tightly closed and everything fading to black, this was going to be the best sleep of his life. If only it lasted longer than two minutes. Reid was jolted awake by Maya jumping on the bed.

"Two shots of tequila please" Maya asked the bartender. "Black or silver?" He responded  "Black" was her reply. She was sitting at the bar, watching as the scenery blurred by. The bartender placed two shot glasses on the counter separating them and skillfully flipped the tequila bottle only to tip its strong dark contents into the aforementioned glasses. Without saying a word, he placed the bottle on the shelf behind him and slid a shaker full of salt and a small plate filled with lemons. Maya briefly looked at him and gave a small smile. Returning the smile the bartender added a small wink and moved to serve another customer.  From the opposite end of the cart that held the bar, the door slid open and Maya turned her focus to the sound. Reid walked in, in a
