After we get home, Shayla goes to change and put Alaia down for a nap, and I throw myself on the sofa with a sigh. I’ve got so many meetings lined up on Monday, and it’s honestly exhausting just thinking about going into the office. I untie my tie, leaving it hanging on my neck, and unbutton my shirt, feeling too lazy to get up and get changed. As I mindlessly flick through the tv channels, I see Shayla coming down the stairs, and she’s changed into a pair of grey, tight-fitted booty shorts and a white crop top. I smile up at her and toss the remote aside when she straddles me and kisses my chest. “Happy birthday, princess.” I croon, looking down at Alaia, who just rose from her sleep. She smiles up at me as soon as she sees me, displaying her two teeth. She’s always so happy in the morning, and this morning was no different.
