The floor scraps the skin on my knees as I skid to a stop, grabbing my father in my arms and holding him against my chest. I am quickly drenched in his blood as I rock him back-and-forth sobbing uncontrollably knowing even for a vampire he can’t be helped, then a thought crosses my mind remembering I am now a hybrid and might save my father’s life.
