I peeled my eyes open, blinking lazily as I felt the morning sun rays that seeped in through the open window - most likely opened by Kyle when he came to check on us earlier - on my face. Brian was snuggled to my side, his fist clutching the hoodie I had been wearing as he peacefully slept. I smiled softly, raking my fingers through his hair to wake him up. 

Today was to be the onset of his heat wave, at least that's what I knew by Kyle's estimates. He didn't know the exact time it would start. What he knew however was that Brian's heat wave wouldn't last longer than a day. Be that as it may, I had to get both of us cleaned up and put him in the nest he had built earlier on as soon as possible.
