It has been hours since the lawyer and Clayton's assistant left. I was helpless and all I could do was to pace. I was like a giraffe outstretching my neck to peer through the glass window to see if there were returning from the desert moon pack. I was too timorous to do anything or form logical thoughts.

My mind was stopped dead. I had done all the household chores around the apartment, I picked up Calvin's toys around the living room, did Clayton’s laundry, and swept and mopped the house but to no avail. Nothing could get my mind off the meeting.

I couldn’t take it losing my son. Just the thought of it brought me to my knees. He was my whole world. My light and my air. I rushed to Calvin. He was engrossed in the cartoon he was watching on the TV and I took his face into my hands. A confused look stretched on his face and I tackled him into a hug.
