Chapter 12

I woke to find myself in quite a bind, and I did mean literally. My feet had soft cuffs around the ankles, and when I moved them, they had a little give, but not much. My wrists had suffered the same fate, the soft cuffs fastened securely around them as well. The cuffs were connected to each corner of the bed. Cade was notably absent. I struggled a little before settling back down, he wouldn’t leave me here, would he?

“Cade?” I asked hesitantly and heard the soft pad of his footsteps. 

“Ah Sloane, you are awake. Are you comfortable?” I snorted at that.
