I tailed the women high above them on the rooftops, moving with the speed and stealth of my kind in the shadows. I felt my canines elongate as I tapped into my powers, my pupils dilating to enhance my vision in the low light. My tongue ran across the bottom of my sharp teeth, tasting the blooming power in my body as I skirted the rooftops following Nikki’s dark sedan to its destination. She parked, badly, in the small space behind the warehouse the Kane’s used for their “business transactions.” Now that they were able to use my family’s hotels and other buildings, the warehouses wouldn’t be needed as much except for potential storage, which was good in a way; things were less likely to go bad in a public space such as a hotel than in a warehouse.
