"If you're here to defend him, please take your leave," Melissa mumbled, the moment Emily entered her room. She was well cuddled on the bed so Emily approached her, taking a seat beside her.

"Like you gonna listen to me if I tell you to forgive him."

Melissa rolled her eyes, hugging her pillow tighter. Her face was red, eyes blotchy and she was tired from crying.

"You shouldn't have let him in. Why if Ryan or anything relating to Ryan was in sight?"

"Of course, I knew nothing was pointing to Ryan. That's why I let him in."

"Don't you feel better after hearing his side of the story?"

Melissa closed her eyes for a second and sighed. "I hate that he's got answers to everything.

"He was scared he was going to lose you."

Melissa shook her head. "I'm not going to be anyone's second wife or second option."

"I don't think he sees you as a second option."

"He has a wife, Emily. And why the hell were you eavesdropping?"

"I wasn't. I was in the kitchen and I could hear you all clearly."
