Leah pov
After nearly four days of travel, we finally got to Silverback pack, amidst grumblings and side-eye glances from the few warriors Alpha Damian had brought with him.
I could understand their grumbling, as the journey was supposed to take just one day in their wolf form, but because I couldn't shift, they had to keep to my pace, which made them angry.
I could sense Damian frustration with me, but he didn't say a word, leaving me in the company of his warriors while he went on to scout.
Immediately we got to what I assumed was the pack house; since it was the biggest building I could see, the door flew open and a stunning silvery-haired woman came flying out of it.
"Damian!" She shouted, jumping on him and planting a full kiss on his lips.
Damian caught her by the hips, and the two of them kissed so deeply I could only stare in shock.
What the-?
The two of them ease off each other reluctantly, their eyes hooked on each other, and the depths of their feelings obvious.
If he already had a woman he loved, why then did he decide to mate Princess Anne?
Was he that cruel to subject the young girl to this? I thought in disgust, as I eyed them still in each other's embrace, but my heart couldn't help but twitch in pain a little.
I shrugged the feeling off, and pushed it down down in my mind, where I hid all my other hurts and pain till it felt like my heart had iced over again.
Better. I thought in satisfaction.
The silver-haired female looked over at me, her beautiful dark brown eyes narrowing in derision as she looked me over.
"I heard you caused My Alpha and his warriors some inconveniences on the way here, Princess?"
The word "princess" on her lips was more like "slave". That was how much disgust was in the word.
This woman didn't like me at all and she made it very obvious.
I didn't say a word in response, but instead stared at her blankly.
She frowned a bit, then turned her attention to a warrior.
"Take her to her room, I need to speak to the Alpha privately," She stated, giving Alpha Damian a seductive smile filled with want and sex.
I already knew what their private meeting would entail.
"Yes Beta Stephanie," The warrior answered, which made me startle in shock at the female being a beta, but I quickly hid my reaction.
I didn't want anyone to be suspicious of me here too. The Alpha's suspicion was more than enough.
As I left with the warrior, I chanced a glance backwards to see Alpha Damian clasping Stephanie's hand in his as they walked towards another wing of the house which I assumed was where their bedroom resided.
Hmmm… I heaved out a deep sigh.
It looked like my stay here would be very uneventful. Maybe I could actually make it out alive.
Alpha Damian wasn't interested in me, seeing that he already had a lover, so he might just ignore me and give me enough opportunity to carry out my aim.
My aim was to steal as much wealth as I could in the next few weeks and run away from this place.
That was the plan I and Princess Anne made.
She had told me of how wealthy the Silverback pack was, which was only second to Risenmoon pack, and if I mated Alpha Damian in her place, I could get access to more wealth as his Luna, than what her father would give me for healing her.
Looking at the layout of this pack house, it looked to be true.
It was decked with beautiful and expensive-looking paintings and artworks, with some gemstones peeking out here and there in some of the furniture.
One of those gemstones would be able to feed me for two weeks. I thought as I observed the whole place, already planning my theft and escape.
"Here is your room, Princess," The warrior said, opening the door to a lavishly decked-out room.
The room was fit for a princess.
"If you need anything, do not hesitate to ask. Someone will always be stationed at the other end of the door," He added, which caused me to grimace slightly.
I didn't want someone watching over me!
It would only make things hard for me.
"Thanks, em?" I asked.
I didn't communicate much with the warriors on our way here, focusing instead on putting one foot in front of the other, and not falling down in a slump.
"James," He answered, giving me a tight smile.
"OK. Thank you, James," I finished.
Immediately he left, I fell on the big soft bed and dozed off.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
"Princess? Princess!?"
Who is knocking? I'm trying to sleep!
I snapped in my thoughts, as I turned to find a better position and resumed my sleep.
"Princess Anne! If you don't answer, I will have no choice but to come in," The voice stated, while I kept on sleeping.
Suddenly a hand shook my shoulder.
"Princess?"
Who was calling princess?
"Who is Princess?" I murmured drowsily, as I opened my bleary eyes, to find one of Alpha Damian's warriors looking down at me in concern.
Immediately I sat up, at attention on the bed.
Shit! I almost exposed myself.
"Sorry to intrude on your privacy, princess. I knocked several times but you didn't respond,"
"Oh… I - I must have been deeply asleep. The journey was quite tiring,"
"How long was I asleep?" I asked, stifling a yawn with my hand.
I was still so tired and needed more sleep.
"We got here before noon, and now, the sun has gone to sleep," He stated.
So, I have been asleep for hours if it was already dark outside.
"Do you need something?" I asked, quirking a brow in question.
"Yes. Alpha Damain has demanded your presence. He wants you to dine with him"
Dine with him? Why would Alpha Damian want to eat with me?
"Will Beta Stephanie be there?" The question suddenly popped out of my mouth, causing the warrior to shift on his feet, his unease obvious.
"I don't know princess," He commented.
"I will leave you to dress up. Someone will be here to take you to the dining hall in a few minutes," The warrior said, then left, closing the door softly behind him.
Leah's POV I stared at my reflection in the mirror, the wide floral skirt and cute top made me feel more regal. I was really doing this. I twirled around, loving the feeling when I heard a knock at the door. "It's open," I answered, and the door was pushed open. It was a maid. "Are you ready? I was asked to take you to the dining room, my Princess," she said, her eyes placed on the floor. It pulled at my heart, reminding me of when I was in my pack and unable to look at the higher-ups too. I plastered a small smile on my face. "Yes, please lead the way," I replied just before I could catch what had just left my lips. The maid looked shocked for a moment but she quickly hid her expression again and turned around to leave. So it was the same everywhere, I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. A princess never used the word 'please'. It was a vocabulary that they didn't need as everything they needed could be gotten in the blink of an eye. Well, I wasn't going to be that princess,
Damien's Pov My instincts have never failed me and right now they were blaring at me, telling me something was wrong. It didn't help that my wolf wanted to be close to her. Her scent was refreshing, pulling me in without my will. It was clouding my senses whenever I was in her presence. Whatever trickery she was playing at, I was going to discover it before she confused me. I shook my head as I walked. I wanted to go to Stephanie's room but the passion was no longer there. I suddenly felt tired and drained. As I forced myself to go to her room, I suddenly felt guilty. I was mated yet I would be spending my first night with another woman. I brushed the thought away. This was only a marriage of convenience. I reached her room and opened it without knocking, knowing fully well that she had heard my footsteps and was expecting me. Stephanie was already half-naked in a see-through dress that hugged every part of her body. As I entered, she wrapped her arms around my neck and pull
Leah's POVMy eyes were closed yet I could feel someone around me. I did not know if it was because of the magic I was practicing or my dormant wolf but I could feel his presence. I opened my eyes and immediately I saw a very huge wolf on my window, sleeping peacefully and a scream erupted from my throat. My scream woke him up and I scrambled out of the bed, ready to defend myself. The wolf stared at me for a few seconds before it jumped and ran away from my window. I quickly ran to my window to make sure it was locked. Indeed, it was. Who knew what would have happened if I had forgotten to close it. Who the hell was that and why was he sleeping at my window? He was too huge to be just a member of the pack. This place was weird, I concluded. Just then, a knock came at my door and I ran to open it. Standing outside was Evelyn and she was looking at me strangely. "I heard a scream, are you okay Princess?" She asked, trying to see inside my room. I suddenly felt conscious and I pull
Leah's POVConnor came a few minutes later and we left my room. He started by taking me round the house. It was a big mansion draped with expensive linen and arts. I felt like Damien was trying to show how wealthy he was although the interior did not seem like his taste. It was more of Stephanie's. "This side of the house is for the maids so whenever you need Evelyn, you can search for her here," Connor explained as we passed the east wing. If I was not sure about Damien's money, I was now. Anne had been telling me the truth. "Okay, who does Evelyn work for?" I asked him, looking uninterested in the conversation. Connor stoped walking and turned to me. "The Alpha, of course. Why do you ask?" He looked at me quizzingly.I shrugged. "Just because. She seemed to be taking note of everything I did and looked at me weirdly." He hummed, said nothing and continued walking. We got out of the house and immediately he pulled my to his chest and turned around. "Shit!" I heard a group of b
Leah's POV"Do not make me ask again, what the hell is going on here?" He growled, his eyes glowing as he stared at us. Connor cleared his throat, turning Damian's attention to himself. "Nothing, Alpha. I was just taking the Princess around," he explained. Damien glanced at me, giving me a suspicious look. "She is no longer a Princess so there is no need to call her that. She has a name." I groaned, not wanting to be called another name. It could mess up with my mind. "I'm fine with being called a Princess," I told him. "After all that is who I am." "You are no longer a Princess, Anne," he hissed. Damian didn't look pleased to see me which I understood but what baffled me was the way his eyes kept on roaming down my body. He seemed angry but I could tell there was something more to his anger. "You are my Luna now and should be assessed as such." It took a lot of my resilience not to roll my eyes at his possessive words. "Well then treat me like one," I glared at him. I heard C
Damien's POVI could not understand why I was getting so pissed off at Connor but I was. He kept glancing everywhere except me and it irked me. "Spar with me," I finally broke the silence, looking at my men sparring with each other. The young wolves were getting better by the day. Both the male and female wolves were warriors in my pack. I made sure to include everyone as a strong pack required strong wolves. "But I have to be on patrol," he answered, looking confused. I was also confused. My wolf was growling within me. He was itching to come out and I wanted to release this pent up anger. He wanted to teach Connor a lesson and I was going to oblige him."You can go later, come on," I ordered and walked to the middle of the field, cracking my neck and folding my hands into fists. Connor looked skeptical and it appeased me at that moment. He knew whenever I was in this mood, I tended to beat the shit out of him. "Don't make me repeat myself Conner," I warned. He sighed dramatic
Damien's POVI blinked in surprise at her tone. "What do you mean? Anne needs someone to protect her." Stephanie scoffed. "What I want to know is why! She is not a child, Damian and I am sure she can defend herself although I do not see the reason to have Connor protecting her when no one is going to attack her." And that was my fear. Until I got the mined lead, I did not want anyone or anything to hurt Anne. She was Alpha Elijah's prized princess although a part of me told me I was doing it for my own selfish interest. I ignored the voice. "I know you do not trust her but trust me at least. Your jealousy is evident on your face," I teased her and she rolled her eyes. "Well you tend to make me overly jealous. You need Connor tomorrow. No one is going to hurt Anne, I promise. I'll take care of her for you," she said with a smile. I observed her expression, not really trusting her words. Stephanie was a very territorial and jealous woman. I would not be at peace leaving Anne in her
Leah's POV The next morning, I stood at the door, watching Stephanie rub her hands all over Damian and I wanted to peel her hands off. She was being so obvious with her desperate attempt to keep him to herself. It was too much to watch. Damian lifted his eyes and they found mine. At that moment it felt like we were having a conversation but I was not sure what it was all about. I could tell he would have sent me a message through mindlink if I had my wolf but I did not so it was not possible. No one told me where he was going to or why he was leaving. Damien pulled his eyes away after staring at me like he wanted to suck my soul. His eyes contradicted his every action whenever I saw him. He gaze so intense and the way he made me feel. My heart started beating loudly as he walked into the woods with his men. Connor turned around around and started coming back. "What are you doing?" Stephanie asked him when he got closer. "Alpha Damian ordered me to come back," he answered
