Leila could see the outline of a man standing in front of her house, seemingly waiting for her. Leila approached him with caution.
"Who is it?", she asked cautiously as she neared where he stood.
"It's me", a deep masculine voice answered.
Leila moved closer and was surprised to see Hendrik standing there. Seeing him standing there, Leila suddenly remembered the rejection he had given her not long ago and she felt a sharp pain in her chest.
"What do you want?", Leila asked in a tone that she realized a little late, after she had said it, was a bit too harsh.
"I just wanted to check in on you and make sure you were ok", Hendrik answered gently as he moved closer to her.
From where he stood, Leila could see the gentleness and kindness in his eyes and she suddenly felt very guilty for being harsh with him.
"Can I come in?", Hendrik asked her gently.
"Yeah, sure", Leila answered and sidestepped him in a bid to open the door.
She opened the door and let Hendrik walk in before following behind him.
"I came earlier on but you weren't home, I was worried so I decided to wait for you to return", Hendrik explained as he turned to look at her.
"Yeah, I had to stop somewhere", Leila told him.
"Are you ok?", Hendrik asked her again.
"Yeah, yes I'm fine. There was no need for you to be worried or to check up on me. I'm fine", Leila answered him.
Hendrik stared at her for a long time and Leila began to feel a little bit uncomfortable.
"You understand right?", he asked her all of a sudden, breaking the silence that had descended over them.
Leila blinked at him, confused.
"Why I had to do that? Why I had to reject you, I mean", he explained and again Leila felt a dull pain in her heart but she tried her best to ignore it.
"Yeah, yeah, I guess I do and I don't blame you", Leila told him.
Leila wasn't lying, she in fact really didn't blame him. She understood where he was coming from. He was the most eligible bachelor in the pack and she was just a wolfless girl, hated and picked on by the rest of the pack. Why should he allow himself to be mated to her when he could have his pick of any of the girls in the pack?
"Really?", Hendrik asked and Leila nodded, looking up at him to show him that she meant what she said.
"Oh good, I was thinking you would blame me for not wanting to be mated to someone like you", Hendrik muttered under his breath but Leila heard him and she looked up at him sharply.
'Someone like her?', Leila got her first warning sign as she stared curiously at Hendrik.
"When I came earlier and I didn't see you, I worried, I thought maybe something bad had happened to you and then it would be my fault", Hendrik said in his usual gentle and soft tone but Leila wasn't having it anymore, she began to get warning signals at the back of her head.
"Well there was no need for you to worry, I'm completely fine", Leila said.
"You can go now", she added, eager to get away from him.
Hendrik looked gently at her.
"Are you angry at me?", he asked her softly, gentleness in his eyes, but the gentleness did nothing to calm the warning signals that were ringing in the back of Leila's mind.
"No, I already told you, I understand why you did it. You can leave now", Leila told him.
"Are you sure?", he asked, moving closer to her but Leila shifted backwards.
"Yes. I just want to be alone", she added and with all the strength she could muster, she added a small smile.
"Alright, I'm glad", Hendrik said and reached forward and pulled her into his embrace.
It all happened too fast for Leila to avoid it. Before she realized what was happening she was already in Hendrik's arms. She stood completely still in his arms.
"I'm so glad to know you are not angry at me", Hendrik said as he held her in his arms.
Leila began to struggle in his arms but Hendrik held her firmly in place. His hands roamed all over her until he squeezed at her butt cheeks. Leila was suddenly alert and pushed Hendrik away with all the force she could muster. Hendrik staggered back, surprised by the amount of force she had used.
"What do you think you are doing?", Leila asked him, staring at him incredulously.
The surprise had gone out of Hendrik's eyes, it was now replaced by a wolf-like grin that was unusual to him.
"You know I've noticed you around Leila", he began to speak as he stared at Leila, his eyes moving all over her..
"You are a very beautiful girl", he added.
"And I am saddened by the fact that I can't have you as my mate because the truth is your status as wolfless girl, won't be good for my reputation so I cannot accept you as my mate publicly", he told in a matter of factly tone.
"But...", he continued.
"That doesn't mean we can't be together",
Leila blinked. She couldn't understand what he meant. She couldn't understand what was happening.
"I don't understand. You rejected me. So how can we be together?", Leila asked him with an incredulous expression.
"Oh Leila, just because I can't accept you as my mate publicly doesn't mean you can't carry out your mate duties to me when we are alone", he explained, a wolfish grin on his face.
Leila shuddered. 'Her mate duties?'
"No one has to know, the two of us can get along fine with each other, can't we?", Hendrik asked her as he advanced towards her with that wolfish grin and predator-like expression. All traces of the gentleness and kindness he usually carried in his eyes were gone. It was as if he was someone else.
Leila shuddered as she backed away from Hendrik.Had she heard him right? Was he suggesting what she thought he was suggesting? Leila almost couldn't believe her ears as she stared at the wolfish grin on his face. This was the man who was regarded as the eligible bachelor of the pack. The man all the ladies of the pack would fall over themselves for. The man whom everyone praised for being extremely kind hearted and gentle, coming to her to suggest that the both of them be entangled in an illicit relationship, moment after rejecting her in public."What do you say, sweetheart? Surely, you see that it's not a terrible idea, hm?", Hendrik asked as he continued to walk towards her.Leila continued to back away from him until she felt the coldness of the wall against her back. She looked behind her and sure enough, the wall was behind her now. She turned back to look at Hendrik."No", she told him, trying as best as she could to sound firm.Hendrik blinked."No?", he asked."No", Leila re
Leila had not gotten too far from her house when she suddenly froze. A strange aura filled the atmosphere, as her adrenaline rushed through her veins.“Is anyone there” She shouted as she felt the cold breeze surging through her body. An alarming sense of danger aroused in her as she begins to walk fast. She suddenly heard a creeping sound in the bush behind her, she turned around only to see him smiling. Hendrick.“Hendrick” She bemused.“Hey, c’mon I’m not a demon, I’m just looking out for my mate” he said staring deeply into her face.“Your mate, can you just leave me alone, you rejected me, you molested me publicly, why are you then trying to act caring all this while”“Hey, I’m not trying to harm you, you knew why I rejected you in the first place, you’re as wolfless as shit, no one has ever seen you transformed before, how awful is that” Hendrik said sarcastically as he turned around not willing to leave“And you’re willing to have a wolfless girl as your sex mate” Leila respond
Just as she was about stepping into the bar, she bumped into someone whose stature and looks made her shiver. Spilling his drinks all over her body and she could only wander who it was as a hot slap landed on her face, causing her face to spin.“Oh, sorry dear” the man said as she jerked from her thoughts.“Yeah, I’m so sorry sir, I was lost in thought” She replied apologetically“And what is a damsel like you thinking about, what makes your face pale” he asked trying to lift her chin up.“Everything is fine sir, I’m sorry for bumping into you” She said as she walked away. The young man stared at her as she walked out on him, her beauty to him was out of this world. He wished he could know more about her. Leila could only just imagine the mess she made of herself, how can she be so distracted to make her bump into someone else. She then began to imagine the man physique, his characteristics, his childish face and she could obviously perceive wealth around him.“Hey dude, you’ve got a
The day obviously doesn't seem cool to me, as I had laid my head on the desk at work. The normal salesy activities were ongoing as Ms. Mary kept attending to all the trooping customers.I swerved my chair around in a bid to bring myself closer to the printer, but my eyes fell on a bracelet in my bag. How it got there was something I can't tell, on a closer look I realized it was the only compensation I got from last night's act.I remembered pulling it off from his hand while he was thrusting me in and out. I tried waving the thoughts of my head, but I just couldn't stop thinking about it.How could I have been so foolish to let a recently met man have sex with me, not only that, I didn't even know his name.A lot of things seemed to be going on within me as different thoughts ran across my head.I thought of taking a day off for a break, but I remembered that I recently got employed in the store. I had to cope with the stress from work, and the stress of my life. This obviously looks
Your highness? Your Highness!" Jake tapped me, I grabbed his arms out of impulse,"Jake?" "You were having a nightmare." He says, "So it was all a dream?" I thought deeply,It was morning already, couldn't believe I slept for that long,*We have a problem, your highness" Jake says, I glanced at him,"What problem?""I think it's best if you'd come by yourself." He started getting me all curious now, what was going on?We walked down the stairs as I hurriedly put on my robe, Jake's look was that of a perplexity as I wondered what could be wrong, but immediately we got down to the lounge. I knew truly we had a problem.I sighted the Kingdom council elders all standing in the room prepared for a meeting, I knew the reason why they had all come. My Mate. The sound of his footsteps as he walked through the columns that lined his castle made an echoing sound that seemed to reverberate with each step he took. It was pitch black in here, except for the light from the electric bulbs.Caspian
It was with silence and moodiness that Leila closed from the store, the customers and even Ms. Mary kept asking her what went wrong as they all saw how moody she was, but she really couldn't give them a definite answerShe walked down the dark road to her community as the chirps from bed and the croaks from frogs were the only thing she could hear. Just as she was almost close to her house. No sooner had she gotten down to her street she perceived a strange scent. She knew what the scent was all about as she knew it was a wolf lurking around. She turned around to get the identity of who it was, but just as she almost reached the peak of the scent the wolf escaped running through the woods amidst the thickness of the bush.Being curious and determined to know who it was, Leila ran after him flinging her back to the bushBrandon panted as he ran through the forest. He tried not to look back as he ran ahead as fast as he could, using his ears to listen if he was still being followed. When
She looked outside through the open window as the air softly brushed over her skin. Together with well-lit streets, the moon's strong illumination of the earth made every street and block visible. When Isabella glanced up at the bright stars, she felt as if they were trying to tell her something. The wall clock, whose ticking sound was the sole sound in the whole home, was her lone company in the spacious bedroom as she turned back into the space. She moved over to her planning desk, shut the window, turned on the laptop, and patiently waited for it to fully start before clicking on a folder icon on the desktop. She opened the folder and saw a Microsoft Word document, which she opened and started to browse. After a minute, she got to her feet, clearly happy with the information she had learned from the paper. Rechecking the wall clock, she saw that it had already been fifteen minutes since midnight. The Nefury clan would relocate the targeted vehicle by 3am, based on the data she had
Lord, Good morning. The caller was greeted by Isabella. An unforgiving voice replied, "Good morning, Isabella."‘Lord, have you gotten the stuff you asked me to get? As per our plan, I put it in the car parked in front of your office."Yes, I saw it," You've seen it, she said. However, why didn't you call me then? You didn't uphold your end of the bargain. What's up?‘What do you mean Lord? Didn’t you say that I would get the bank alert for my balance two hours after you get the carton?’‘Yes I said that, but you broke the agreement first’‘What? How?’‘You said you would do the job without slaying any wolves‘Yes, I didn’t slay any" ‘But it was all over the news yesterday, all the wolves at the warehouse were found dead yesterday’That didn't happen in the afternoon, so it wasn't me. I completed the task around 3am.‘How am I supposed to believe that you really did the job by 3am?’‘What the hell are you talking about Lord?’ Isabella flared up. ‘I see you don't want to keep your part
