Chapter 5

Leila had not gotten too far from her house when she suddenly froze. A strange aura filled the atmosphere, as her adrenaline rushed through her veins.

“Is anyone there” She shouted as she felt the cold breeze surging through her body. An alarming sense of danger aroused in her as she begins to walk fast.

She suddenly heard a creeping sound in the bush behind her, she turned around only to see him smiling. Hendrick.

“Hendrick” She bemused.

“Hey, c’mon I’m not a demon, I’m just looking out for my mate” he said staring deeply into her face.

“Your mate, can you just leave me alone, you rejected me, you molested me publicly, why are you then trying to act caring all this while”

“Hey, I’m not trying to harm you, you knew why I rejected you in the first place, you’re as wolfless as shit, no one has ever seen you transformed before, how awful is that” Hendrik said sarcastically as he turned around not willing to leave

“And you’re willing to have a wolfless girl as your sex mate” Leila responded feeling bewildered.

“More reason why I’m here, i know you desire to know the reason for your parent’s death, but you surely can’t get to the root of the matter with this dogged attitude of yours”

“Enough of that ranting dear Alpha, you’ll never get close to me” She said as she walked the road while waving a cab.

“Good Morning ma’am” Leila curtsied as she sighted Ms. Mary in the store

“Hey girl, beautiful morning. Hope you had a splendid night” Ms. Mary enquired as she patted her cheek.

“Yeah Ma’am” She answered as she remembered the crazy shit Hendrik did last night and having to trail her this morning.

“Okay, So Leila, Mrs. Wilderose asked for a thousand cent grocery which would be way billed to her, I’d love you to add that to the account ledger” she said as she was checking out the store for finished goods.

“Also, remember that we have some goods coming in today, do well to settle the bills for that and keep me updated on how the expenses goes” She said still taking note of the goods in the store.

“Okay ma’am, I would do that ma’am” Leila already noticed that the day was really going to be hectic for her. Well she needed it tho. She was still pondering on her thought when a beep from her phone distracted her.

She tried discarding the message, but her curiosity got the best part of her. Swiping down her phone she saw a notification of a newly opened bar at the middle of the city.

“The Elite Bar and Resort set to display their awesome features for being the 8th best wonder in the world. The city of Alamis is yet to contain the pleasure of this. To be newly opened by 8pm today” She read the message aloud, as she seems to be intrigued by the message.

“How would a night in this bar feel like?” She thought.

“A hangover this night surely won’t be bad” She soliloquized

“Hey dear” she was called upon to attend to the trooping customers

 I’d love to have this” a customer said as she Leila began to attend to the customers.

6pm 

*Later in the Day*

“Hey Leila, when you’re done pack the groceries and place them in the right place. Do well to attach the correct price tag to it” Ms. Mary gave the instructions whilst she worked out of the store, leaving Leila to attend to the customers

“Oh yeah, thank you for this, I would leave a reminder for Ms. Mary about the incoming product” 

“Alright, so sweet of you, I’d inform her then” Leila said as she attended to the last customer.

Just as the customer went out of the store, Leila took a seat as the thoughts of the current happenings in her life flickered in her thoughts.  

The unflinching pestering of Hendrik has gotten to her nerves as she ruminated over the thoughts of what happened in the night of altercation, the way Hendrik rejected her publicly because of her wolfless ability.

Something immediately dropped in her mind. The bar

That seems to be like the best option, she just wanted to get over all the happenings around her. She really wanted everything to end.

Without flinching, she grabbed her handbag as she headed out straightening her gown while she searched the location of the bar on her phone

It took a long while for her to eventually find the bar, and when she did. The environment doesn’t look fascinating to her. The loud songs from the blaring speakers, the noisy environment, the tiny bickering light that shone from the corners of the bar. This obviously wasn’t what she wanted, but she was determined to try it out as she headed to the bartender for a drink.

Just as she was about stepping into the bar, she bumped into someone whose stature and looks made her shiver. Spilling his drinks all over her body and she could only wander who it was as a hot slap landed on her face, causing her face to spin.
