PROLOGUE

Casper Sullivan tried to keep a straight face as he sat at the dinner table with his family. His heart was pounding in his chest, and he knew that something was going to happen that would change everything. He took a sip of his wine, trying to calm his nerves, but it didn't help.

"Thank you, Mother, for inviting us to dinner," he said, trying to sound casual.

"You're welcome, dear," his mother replied, smiling at him. "I thought it would be nice for all of us to get together."

Casper looked around the table at his family members. His father, Richard, sat at the head of the table, looking stern as usual. His twin brother, Ryan, sat across from him, smirking. Casper felt a surge of anger rise within him as he looked at his brother.

Kendall, his ex-fiancee, sat next to Ryan, looking as beautiful as ever. Casper tried not to look at her, but he couldn't help himself. Memories flooded his mind, and he felt a sharp pain in his chest.

"I have some news to share with all of you," Ryan said, interrupting Casper's thoughts. "Kendall and I are engaged."

Casper felt as though he had been punched in the gut. He stared at Ryan, his mind racing. He couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"What?" he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

"I asked Kendall to marry me, and she said yes," Ryan said, his smirk widening.

Casper felt the anger rise within him, and he stood up from the table.

"I can't do this," he said, his voice shaking. "I have to go."

He pushed his chair back and walked out of the room, his heart pounding in his chest. He couldn't believe that his brother would do something like this to him.

As he walked out of the house, he felt a sense of relief. He couldn't be around his family right now, not after what had just happened. He walked to his car, got in, and drove away.

He drove for hours, trying to clear his head. He couldn't believe that Kendall had accepted Ryan's proposal. He had thought that she loved him, that they had a future together. But now, everything was gone.

As the sun began to rise, Casper realized that he had to move on. He couldn't let this defeat him. He had built his own company from scratch, and he was worth billions of dollars. He couldn't let his brother and his ex-fiancee get the best of him.

He drove back to his office, determined to throw himself into his work. He had a company to run, and he couldn't let his personal life interfere with it.

As he sat in his office, looking out the window at the city below, he realized that he was alone. He had no one to share his success with, no one to love him for who he was. But he knew that he had to keep going. He had to be strong, for himself and for his company. He picked up the phone and called his assistant.

"I need you to schedule a meeting with the board of directors," he said. "I have some ideas for the future of the company, and I want to present them as soon as possible."

He hung up the phone and leaned back in his chair. He knew that he had a lot of work to do, but he was ready for it. He was Casper Sullivan, the owner of Cass Pharmaceuticals, and nothing could stop him.
