Chapter seventeen

I felt like a heavy weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

"Hmm looks like things are fixed between you two," mom unwrapped herself from me and we looked at the door where

Dad stood with his arms crossed looking at us, a warm smile on his face.

"Come join in babe," mom beckoned him

Dad chucked and sat on my other side, he wrapped his arms around me and I stiffened remembering what transpires between us this morning. He almost touched me!

"I'm sorry, for everything," he whispered his apology. I didn't want to forgive him but it takes a lot of courage to actually apologise to someone younger than you and I'm glad he atleast mastered up the courage to do so.

I relaxed while he and mom engulfed me in a warm hug, something that I haven't felt in a while.

"Can I ask something?" I broke the silence that had stretched into the the room.

"Yes my baby girl, of course you can," mom responded followed by pecking my forehead.
