Chapter 2
Chapter 2: Refusing offer.
Javier smirked at his father, and after some minutes he asked, "You mean the date you forced me to go ? Well...she deserved everything I said and did to her," he stated firmly, clasping his hands behind his back.
Mr. Reyes's hand moved swiftly through the air to slap Javier once again, but he anticipated it and quickly caught hold of his father's hand and pushed it away.
"What do you want from me, Dad? Haven't you used me enough? Answer me, haven't you?" Javier erupted, throwing his hands up in the air angrily, as his chest kept rising and falling in rage.
Javier had always been disappointed in his father since he was a child. He couldn't comprehend how a man who claimed to be his biological father would sacrifice his son's lifelong happiness for the sake of his company's partnership with Mr. Alverdo. He was disgusted by his father's selfishness, which led him to refuse his father's demands. He might as well do his worst because he was not ready to change his mind.
Mr. Reyes suddenly became calm as he walked towards the nearest couch and sat down, massaging his temple in frustration as he spoke again. "Javier, what has happened to you? Back when you were in college, I distinctly remember receiving reports from the authorities about how you spent time with women, went clubbing, and engaged in reckless sex, regardless of your surroundings. But since you turned twenty-five, I've noticed that I haven't seen you with a woman. It's almost as if you find them repulsive." He sighed, "Javier, what is the problem? If I had to choose, I would say you should return to your previous lifestyle. This new version of yourself is tarnishing our reputation." He muttered softly.
"Even if I ever consider getting married, I will never marry that woman called Olivia." Javier stated.
"I can't believe you want Javier to marry that woman. I don't even like her." Fabby interjected with a scowl on her face.
"You're only five, Fabby, you wouldn't understand anything." Mr. Reyes said to her, then he turned to Javier. "It's Olivia I want. No one else." He declared, with a finality in his voice.
"Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not getting married to anyone!" Javier fearlessly fired back. He was deeply disappointed in his father for considering pairing him with the city whore.
"Yes, I support Javier!" Fabby chimed in again, throwing her doll in the air before abruptly turning to glare at her dad. "Daddy, you better be ready to take Olivia as your second wife, because it seems like Javier isn't interested in that woman." She concluded, rolling her eyes.
"Will you close your mouth before I do it for you?" Mr. Reyes lashed out at Fabby. Looking frustrated, he turned to face Mrs. Helen, who had remained calm throughout the argument between father and son. "Woman, talk some sense into your son—"
"Please Reyes... leave me out of this. He's your son too, not just mine." Helen snapped, rolling her eyes.
Mr. Reyes turned and glared at Javier in furious, "If you choose not to marry Olivia, then forget about my properties and companies because I would rather give them away than give them to you, Javier!" He threatened, pointing his index finger at his son, who seemed undisturbed.
Javier let out a dry chuckle, "Well, you can go to hell with your companies, properties, and whatever else because I don't need them. Have you forgotten so soon that I'm a billionaire? New York's sweetheart?" Javier snapped. "Whatever you have right now, I have three times as much, so find something else to threaten me with." He declared. "Do you have anything else to say? I have somewhere to be." Javier continued flicking his car keys in the air, not waiting for his father's reply before making his way out the door.
"Over my dead body will you marry anyone other than Olivia," Reyes yelled after him.
"Then you'd better be prepared to die. Because I will never marry her!" Javier yelled back, before walking out and slamming the door shut behind him.

When Javier stepped outside, he saw his best friend, Elvis, already waiting for him by his car, who lifted his head when he heard the door slam. "Hey, dude. You kept me waiting."
"Can we just leave here? It's already suffocating me." Javier mumbled, as soon as he got closer. Without waiting for Elvis's reply, he got into the car and Elvis followed suit. In less than ten seconds, they were pulling out of the building.

As soon as Javier left the house, Reyes paced restlessly around the sitting area, wondering why Javier would reject his demand now of all times. He was so disturbed because Javier had never dared to disobey his orders. But today he was stunned when he saw how firm Javier stood on his words and that actions troubled him more.
He really had to get Javier married to Olivia, just like he promised his friend, Alverdo. Otherwise, hell would break loose. Because Alverdo doesn't take no for an answer.
Reyes had always believed that the love in a marriage was all about wealth and facial handsomeness, and he believed Javier was up to the task because he was every woman's dream.
Reyes quickly turned and faced Helen, anger evident on his face. "You know we have to convince Javier to marry Olivia, for the business partnership and to prove to the world that he's not gay." He whispered, but Fabby still heard him.
Helen shook her head in disagreement, "Javier will never marry that girl. Just forget about that idea." She advised. "I won't sit back and watch you ruin my son's life because of your selfishness," Helen stated.
Reyes, scoffed, "Woman, do your job as a mother! Or I will teach you." He angrily erupted, while Helen remained calm, refusing to engage in a fight with him. There was no point, as he was as stubborn as Javier.
Immediately, Fabby stood up, laughing loudly and clapping her hands. "Then be prepared to die, because you know your son very well. Well, enough to know how stubborn he is and that he will never agree to what you're saying." Then, with an evil smirk on her face, she said, "I wish you good luck."
Reyes glared at her. "Make sure you don't say a word about what you just heard to your brother." He threatened.
She laughed even harder as she mimicked her brother's voice. "Then you'd better be prepared to die."
"You little brat—"
"A father of a brat." She interrupted him and ran upstairs before things escalated further. Knowing that this time, Javier wouldn't be here to save her. She entered her room and quickly called Javier on her cell phone and disclosed everything to him.
During the ride, Elvis decided to strike up a conversation, thinking carefully about what he wanted to say. However, Javier was still on the phone with Fabby, who was reporting something to him. Elvis noticed that Javier's face was scrunched up in anger and he was clutching his right hand into a fist. "Alright, Fabby," Javier said, ending the call and gnashing his teeth. "Javier, is everything okay?" Elvis asked, turning to Javier. Javier shook his head. "Daddy always wants to have his way all the time," he complained. Elvis sighed. "Then you should involve grandpa in this before it gets out of hand," he suggested. Javier nodded in agreement. "I think..." Suddenly, “Aaaah!!” Elvis screamed and slammed on the brakes. "Holy fuck!" he cursed, fear visible in his eyes, as he breathed heavily. Javier turned to him, wondering why he was freaking out; Like he saw a ghost. "What happened?" Javier asked, knowing something big must have scared him. "Javier, I accidentally splashed mud on
Elvis's car sped into his building, and the automatic gate closed behind them. Javier was the first to exit the car, storming into Elvis's house in a fit of anger as he kept cursing endlessly under his breath, while Elvis followed behind, finding amusement in the incident that had occurred an hour ago. He knew that was the reason for Javier's anger.Javier sat angrily on the couch, still struggling to believe the audacity of the woman who had slapped his face without any fear. He was curious about her identity."Can you believe that lady? She was so brave and full of energy. I'm still stunned that she wasn't even scared of you like the others," Elvis exclaimed, laughing as he sat down on the couch opposite Javier.Javier glared at him and scoffed, rolling his eyes."Ladies like her still exist! Whoa!" He continued to praise Natalie non-stop."More reason why I'm going to make her life miserable. I will ruin her," Javier growled, clenching his fists, plotting revenge against Natalie. He
Olivia stood at the entrance of the door. She was the devil, just as Elvis had claimed. ‘Did she really have to come here, of all places?’ Javier thought and hissed. He had already reached his limit. First, it was his father, then that crazy lady who had the audacity to slap him, and now he had to deal with this woman too. His eyes remained fixed on the door without blinking. After a few minutes of scanning the club room, Olivia's gaze finally landed on them. She wore a devilish smirk as she cat-walked towards them like the model she is. While Javier pretended to be engrossed in his cell phone, secretly plotting numerous schemes against her. She finally reached their table and realized there were no empty seats. Her gaze wandered around, as they finally landed on a couple enjoying their time together. She approached them seeking the attention she desired from Javier. Olivia intentionally caused a scene by forcefully displacing the lady from her seat, causing her to fall to the groun
The sun's rays streamed through Olivia's large glass windows, illuminating her face and causing her to stir in bed. However, she remained still and made no effort to rise. Her cell phone continuously buzzed with incoming messages, prompting her to reach out and retrieve it from her bedside table. In doing so, she suddenly felt a jolt and nearly lost her balance while attempting to stand. Instantly, a peculiar and intense headache overwhelmed her, causing her to clutch her head with her right hand in hopes of alleviating the pain. Unfortunately, her efforts proved futile, as she kept hissing in pain. Olivia's steps faltered as she approached her expansive dressing mirror. Her reflection startled her, causing her to pause and her mouth hang open. It felt as though she was gazing at a completely different person. She appeared disheveled, despite her efforts to muster the little energy she had left to shower the previous night. She suspected she had cried herself to sleep, given her re
Alverdo continued to call various contacts, as he drove on the highway in an attempt to bring down his daughter's viral video, but all of his efforts were unsuccessful. No one wanted to get involved because they were aware of Javier's reputation and didn't want to risk getting on his bad side. "Why haven't you been answering my calls?" he angrily lashed out at the CEO of a TV broadcasting service in New York, frustrated by the time she took to pick up. "I'm busy. What do you want?" she said nonchalantly, already knowing why he was calling her non-stop. "Tell your team to take down my daughter's viral video from their broadcast immediately," he commanded, his voice threatening. "And who are you to give me such an order?" she scoffed loudly over the phone. "Just so you know, Javier has instructed us not to take it down until he says so. I'm sorry, but your request cannot be granted," she replied. "I can give you $200 million," Alverdo offered desperately. "Javier offered $2 billion
Javier and Elvis sat in the mansion garden, with Elvis unable to stop laughing at the funny comments on Olivia's viral video. The video was gaining a lot of attention online effortlessly. "Bro, you've made Olivia go viral again, but in a bad way," Elvis said between laughs. "The comments are brutal. People can be so cruel on the internet," he added, scrolling through his phone and still laughing. "She really picked the wrong person to mess with," Javier muttered, sipping his wine. He couldn't shake the image of the woman who had slapped him few days ago from his mind, and he was growing impatient with his men for taking so long to find her information. Elvis was scrolling through his newsfeed when he came across an advertisement from an event planning company. The banner picture featured two familiar faces - the woman who had slapped Javier and her best friend. Without saying anything to Javier, he quietly saved the picture on his phone. “Any updates on the girl you've been search
“Hey, cutie," Olivia said, still smiling and ignoring her question."That doesn't answer my question, and stop smiling like a crazy psychopath before I throw you out of my house," Fabby yelled, pushing her with her little hands. She felt disgusted by her presence.Olivia chuckled before deciding to introduce herself. "My name is Olivia, and I'm your brother's girlfriend and future wife."Fabby's expression was priceless as she couldn't believe the woman her father was trying to set up with her brother was standing right in front of her. She vowed to give her a piece of her mind. "So you're Olivia?" she suddenly asked, to which Olivia quickly nodded with a smile. "So you're the shameless woman forcing herself on my brother."Olivia thought to herself, "Okay, that was rude." She couldn't believe a young child, who she assumed to be around five or six years old, could use such harsh words on her."I will never let my brother marry--""Fabby, will you be quiet," Reyes yelled sternly as he
Olivia couldn't contain her excitement as she entered her father's sitting area and immediately started showing off her dance moves. "I'm so happy!" she screamed, dancing non-stop.Alverdo couldn't help but smile widely as he witnessed his daughter's genuine happiness for the first time. He was glad to be the source of her joy, knowing he had done what any father would do for their daughter. He felt proud to have fulfilled every promise he made to his late wife Riley on her deathbed.Olivia ran to her father and hugged him tightly, crying on his shoulder. Alverdo quickly heard her sobs and pulled away from the hug to hold her face in his hands, looking into her tear-streaked face."Olivia, don't cry, my dear. You should be happy that you're marrying the man you've always wanted," he said, comforting her and pulling her into another hug as she cried harder."Dad, I wish Mom could be here to share this happy moment with me, but I'm glad you're fulfilling the promise you made to her. I'm
