CHAPTER TWELVE

SALLY

I turned to James and ge gave me a questioning glare. I said nothing to him. He also didn't speak to me, so we just turned around and began walking into the hall together. It was awkward.

James was cold. I knew he would have said something funny already, but he didn't. I turned to him when we were close enough to the VVIP seat.

"You were here earlier?" I asked him.

"Just like you, I excuse myself for a second."

I nodded.

We walked to my seat together, and he moved my chair backwards for me to sit.

"Thanks," I muttered and forced a smile.

James, the celebrant, beckoned on him to come forward. He walked towards him and lowered himself to his ear. They whispered a few words to each other before James came to sit beside me.

"Are you okay?" The celebrant asked me.

I nodded and forced a smile.

"Of course."

I looked around the table and searched the hall of Alexander. I suspected that he had left cause I heard the sound of his car.
