Chapter 6

"So," Mr Miller spoke up as though he couldn't sense the awkwardness surrounding us at this moment, "Mr Smith, why don't you tell me a bit about how the two of you met?" he asked as he looked at me, then his eyes moved to Junior briefly, before his eyes were on me again and I distracted myself with the pizza on the table and then poured myself some more red wine.

"We met in school," Junior said simply and I looked at Junior to see if he was feeling some type of way about Mr Miller and I gathered from his eyes that he wasn't too fond of Mr Miller.

I placed my hand atop of his, calming him down. At the end of the day, this was my boss and I do as much sucking up as I need to do, to ensure that check, "we were high school sweethearts, Mr Miller," I smiled at him, and then looked at his date Yolanda who was watching me with an expressionless face, "he was a jock and I was the good girl who was his tutor. We dated from tenth grade until sen
