Chapter 77.

I Walked back up and got to the kitchen. So far so good. I was careful so that none of Damien's people would see me. I stopped and hid where I had to but they weren't that many in the estate right now.

The kitchen was almost empty. The only ones in there were two chefs whom I knew worked for the Royals. They turned their backs toward me as I came in and I started rummaging the fridge. There were lots of fresh meats in there and some bags of jerky in the pantry. I grabbed anything with protein and some bread as well. I grabbed as much as I could carry but one of the chefs came up and patted my shoulder. She held out a big plastic bag and I stuffed all the meats inside of it.

I thanked the chef who seemed relieved at what was happening. Everyone here wanted things to go back to the way they were. They didn't want Damien and his people here but if they tried doing something themselves, they’d get slaughtered.
