Adrian
It's been weeks since my father threat, not like I give a damn anyways. I'd put effort in carrying out a search for Violet, but she was no where to be found. Though I was bothered, but I also had my concern laced on Emily. She's my major concern as of now.
One Knock. Two Knock. Three!, Yet no response, I opened the door as I walked inside.
"Emily?" I called out, my heart racing as I approached her bedside. My pulse quickened as I saw her lying there, her body tense and huddled together.
"You're here," she whimpered, and a wave of calm washed over me.
"Yes, I am. My dearest Emily," I whispered, gently touching her face. Guilt washed over me as I realized how I had neglected her over the past few weeks, despite knowing full well about her medical condition.
"I can't express how relieved I am to see you. I thought you had truly left me. I could only see shadows. I feared I'd have to breathe without you by my side... I thought," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.
"Emily, it's okay. I'm here now, and everything will be alright," I reassured her, holding her hand tightly.
"I love you Adrian, I really do love you. And I'll always do, until death do us apart,"
"I love you too, Emily. With all my heart," I replied, tears welling up in my eyes. "And I promise, I'll always be here for you, no matter what." I have her my words.
I was ready to sail with her on the same boat, even if it means walking through the fire, I would surely do whatever it takes.
"Should I call the doctor?" I queried, observing her pulse.
"He just left a few minutes before you walked in, but I'll be okay with the hope of having you here," she replied, a smile lighting up her face.
"Cock and bull story, more like she's the first person to die," Kai snickered, his words cutting through the solemn moment.
"Damn it! Must we go through this even now?" I shot back through our mind link, shutting him out immediately. Emily needed me in such a critical moment. She was my first and true love, and even if it meant defying my father's orders, I didn't hesitate.
The blaring sound of my phone shattered the moment, and I glanced at it before looking back at her.
"I need to take this," I said, feeling guilty for the interruption, as I saw it was Reynold calling.
"Sure," she replied, her smile fading slightly as she understood the necessity of the call.
"You need to come home, Alpha!" Reynold's urgent tone cut through the line, leaving his message hanging in the air.
"What is it, Reynold? This isn't the time for nonsense..." I began, but my voice trailed off as he mentioned the InnovaTech project.
"I didn't order them to stop," I interjected, my mind racing back to the countless sleepless nights and tireless efforts I had poured into that project.
"No, you didn't. The Alpha King did," Reynold clarified, his words landing like a heavy blow. My eyes widened in shock as my thoughts instantly flashed back to the ominous words my father had spoken.
VIOLET POV
The Redmoon pack manor, wasn't as large compared to that of Silvermoon, but it was quite accommodating.
"Please relay the information to the Alpha King, that we're here," My Mama spoke to the Beta that was standing at the door to chamber.
"Is he expecting you both?" His strict tone was for sure, some kinda warning that can back one off immediately.
"No, it isn't a thing of urgency, I only intend to introduce my granddaughter to him," Mama explained calmly, ignoring the subtle warning in the Beta's voice.
The Beta nodded curtly, his expression unreadable as he stepped aside to allow us entry into the pack manor. As we walked through the corridors, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation mixed with apprehension. Meeting the Alpha King was no small matter, especially considering the rumors that surrounded him.
As we approached the grand chamber where the Alpha King held court, my heart began to beat faster. Mama's hand on my shoulder provided a reassuring presence as we entered the room.
The Alpha King sat on his throne, his gaze sharp and penetrating as he regarded us. I couldn't help but feel a shiver run down my spine under his intense scrutiny.
"Alpha King," Mama greeted respectfully, bowing her head slightly. "I hope we're not intruding."
The Alpha King's expression softened slightly as he inclined his head in acknowledgment. "Not at all, Charlotte. What brings you here today?" The voice was like a reminder to my ears. It was sounding all too familiar.
"I simply wished to introduce my granddaughter, Violet, to you," Mama explained, gesturing towards me.
The Alpha King's gaze shifted to me, and I fought to keep my composure under his scrutiny. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Violet," he said, his voice commanding yet strangely gentle.
"The pleasure is mine, Alpha King," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady despite the nervousness coursing through me.
He stood to his feet, his full face coming to a full view, and then I almost gasped.
I was right for a second, "Mason?" I didn't realize when I screamed it out.
My Mama nudged me, a sign to tell me I should show some respect.
"Hi Violet, we meet again," He smiled at me, revealing those sets of his dentition as he walked to where we stood.
"You have quite a mannered Granddaughter, Charlotte. I must confess. A female who rides, a horse and an incredible chef, plus an experience of staying in the human world. She'll be useful to the palace..." I watched as he recounted my lies to my Mama. Not like I had any options, I had to protect myself.
"I must take it that you've met with my granddaughter before, Alpha?" My granddaughter hold on mine tightened as she queried the Alpha king.
"Yes, I met her in the woods today," he shrugged his shoulder indifferently.
How on Earth did Mason the Globetrotter turned out to be the Alpha King?
Chapter 1 "Congratulations, Violet, you're two weeks pregnant!" The doctor's words rang in my ear as I sat up straight. My eyes widened as I stared at the result he had handed over to me in disbelief. "Y.. You're certain about this, aren't you?" I had to ask for a second time because I needed to be sure."Tests can't lie, Mrs. Adrian. It's certain. You're two weeks pregnant," the doctor muttered as he smiled. I could see the relief in his eyes too as he assured me.Of course, he has to be relieved because Adrian and I were like regular visitors in his hospital. We'd tried all the methods and forms to ensure I was pregnant, but none worked: In Vitro fertilization (IVF), Intra Uterine insemination (IUI)... Name it, we tried all but none yielded results."Thank you so much, Doctor, thank you!" I muttered, tears welling in my eyes as I headed outside.Adrian is going to be excited that I'm finally going to give birth to an heir to the Wolfe. Being married for four years without an heir wa
Chapter 2I watched as his eyes diverted from mine, facing the floor, his hands fidgeting, and then he said the formidable."I want a divorce!" The words pierced through my heart like an arrow, shattering me beyond repair. This can't be true! This is a lie, no. No.. this is a dream!"What do you mean, Adrian..." I stuttered, trying to affirm if I had heard correctly."You heard me, Violet. I want a divorce!" He repeated, saying the words like it meant nothing to him."Why? Is there anything I'm not doing correctly, for you want me to change..." I was still trying to talk when he cut me off."Enough, Violet! You both know I had zero intention of getting married to you. If not for my father's command, I would have rejected you the very same day the moon goddess revealed that you're my mate," With each word he uttered, it reminded me of the past, like several arrows shot at once."But we've been married for four years now... You're addicted to my body, we are compatible, you admitted it y
Chapter 3"For the past three hours, I've remained indoors, ignoring the persistent knocks from Adrian and that woman. Refusing to engage, I simply directed them to go to hell," I stated firmly, as I stared at the signed divorce papers, placing them on the table silently hoping Adrian would notice. "Finally free from him, I can only hope this decision brings an end to his misery as well."After cautiously checking if there was anyone outside, I opened the door to be startled by Freya standing there. "Freya," I exclaimed, taken aback by her unexpected presence."Luna, you scared me, I was already getting worried. The Alpha king asked me to look after you," Freya explained."Is he home?" I queried."No, he went to settle some official duties."I let out a sigh, relief washing through me that he was not around."I've got to go, Freya," I announced, letting her inside as I carried my suitcase. "Let this be between us and never tell the Alpha king about my whereabouts," I made it clear to
Chapter 4"Alpha, is everything alright?" My Beta, Reynold asked. Reynold was my right-hand man; I always fill him in on whatever was happening in my life. He was like a younger brother I never had."That's a good news, at least you wouldn't have to marry Emily anymore," he smiled, he had always hated Emily from day one but approves of me getting married to Violet."That's not the case; she's nowhere to be found," I broke the bombshell, watching as his face went rigid."I already assigned the guards to do that; she can't run far. It's either she's at her parents' house or somewhere within the pack; they'll surely bring her back.""Fetch me the Royal Doctor. I need to confirm the test first, if it's worth chasing after her or not," I ordered."You are chasing after her just because of the baby?" Reynold queried, his brows propping up."Yes, why else? She signed the divorce papers already, so we are done!" The hurt was right in my chest, but I have to pretend; she signed it, so it simply
Adrian's POV:My head was banging heavily with the thought of Violet leaving me. I should be happy, right? But why the mood? Why was I in this state if this was what I wanted?Emily had always been the one on my mind, but then again, she should have at least told me about the pregnancy before leaving me. Why would she just decide to leave?"Don't tell me you're still here brooding over her," Emily's voice startled me from my thoughts as I flinched and then looked at her face. Her face squinted in anger as she gazed down at me, but not like I care anyways."You need to leave, Emily," I replied coldly. If there was anything I hated, it was some kind of pity party. I hated it so much."I can't let you sit here and keep brooding over her. Don't you get it? She's gone!" Emily barked. The least I needed at this moment was just my quiet time, and Emily didn't seem to understand it.I stood to my feet deciding to leave her there since she didn't want to let me be. But then I hadn't taken a st
"Where's Violet?" My dad was quick to ask as he settled into the sitting room. He wasn't looking much different from when last I had saw him. Aside from the fact that he was aging from day to day. This was exactly what I was trying to prevent. I hated moments like this, where he would have to question me like a child."Dad, I'm old enough. I'm no longer a child. I'm old enough to make decisions for myself!" I yelled, my head pounding. My dad was a man of control; he loved being in control, and when he said something, he wanted it done his way. He was mostly the reason why I had to marry Violet."You're old enough to make decisions, and yet you have to make a stupid one. I didn't ask for any story. Where is Violet?" His voice boomed through the room. I could tell he was losing his patience."She's gone!" I looked away; the word was hard to say. Heaven knows I didn't intend to let her go. That was a choice she made on her own.I watched as his face fell with disappointment."I'll give y
