Haunted woods
Golden Summit Pack
"In the thick Culloden woods, where the trees stretch high in the sky, blocking out all sunlight, There is a pack of demon wolves who are direct descendants of Hades. They are known as hellhounds. Said to be the fallen soldiers of the goddess brought back to life by the eternal flame to do his bidding. They catch fire when awakened and will burn anything in their wake. It is said that the dense fog is not a fog at all but a thick layer of smoke that hangs low in the forest, making it even more dangerous to venture in. The woods are said to catch fire in the center and never stop burning, but from the outside, you see nothing. The portal to hell is in the center of those woods, allowing the hellhounds to cross over as they please. No one dares venture into the forest, for they fear they will never come back out.
"Boo!"
A piercing scream rings through the night from my not-so-little sister. You would think she was about eight years old, but in reality, she is sixteen and just a wuss. Reagan punches my youngest brother Sam in the arm, and I can’t help but laugh.
"What the hell, Sam, that isn’t funny. I almost had a heart attack." She yells before turning and stomping off her brown locks, which are swaying behind her.
"It’s just a scary story!" He yells after her before laughing. My two other brothers walked up, standing beside us after an angry Reagan pushed past them.
"What did you do now, Sam?" Duron is a little annoyed.
"You told her the tale of Culloden Woods, didn’t you?" Kendrick is amused.
We are all identical quadruplets. I’m the eldest; my parents gave me the name Cyrus. Then you have, in order, Duron, Kendrick, and Samson, but he goes by Sam. We are all 21, but our birthdays are in two months. Our mother didn't make it through our birth. Not even a witch could help heal her.
Now we are doomed to live a cursed life. We have no mate. Most claim there is no one destined for us, but I believe the goddess wouldn’t be so cruel. Whoever she is, I know she will be extraordinary to be able to take on four alpha males. Well, soon-to-be alphas, our dad isn’t handing down the pack to us until we turn 22. He claims we’re too immature, but I think he’s referring to Sam and Kendrick. They tend to goof around quite a bit. The only thing you can get them to focus on is training.
Kendrick is the strongest fighter I have ever seen; he is formidable. Even though all our wolves are identical, his seems to have an edge. Sam is one of the best in hand-to-hand combat; he trains day and night but refuses to train for alpha. Oftentimes, he skips out on duties, and our dad looks as if he will pop a blood vessel in his forehead.
My father is a ruthless alpha, never bowing down to anyone. His only soft spot is for us, and he seems to be the softest on Sam; after all, he is the youngest. He has taken all the territories around us, so we are now surrounded by allies.
There is one area of land he refuses to seize, and that is Culloden Woods. My brothers and I decided the night we took over as alphas, we would conquer these woods and claim them as our own. No stupid tale will keep us from taking what we want.
"You never came to dinner."
Speak of the devil, Alpha Augustus Idris, my father. Leader to all, carefully grooming his four sons to take his place.
"Wasn’t hungry."
"You know damn well I set up a meeting for the four of you, so you skipped out." His temper has always been a problem, but it never seems to intimidate us.
"A meeting to set us up with some slutty she-wolf who isn’t our mate." Duron snarls back at him, matching his fiery tone.
"Five years, Duron! Five years and you haven’t found her. What makes you think you will ever find her?"
"She’s out there somewhere!" Sam adds his two senses to not following my father.
"How do you even know there is a mate for quadruplets? It has never happened in history. The last set of quadruplets chose their mate because they never found their true mate." He seems annoyed at this point, and I decide I will no longer stand by and allow my father to try and control us.
"We’re not choosing a mate. We will wait." I say this in a final tone.
"Stop bringing those thirsty wolves here." Kendrick turns away from our father, staring into Culloden Woods.
"I will only ever accept my true mate, not some cheap knockoff that just wants to mate an alpha." Sam stomps off towards the Blairadam Woods on the other side of our territory, which are ordinarily peaceful.
Kendrick walks away toward the house, no doubt turning in for the night, seeing as he gets up at the crack of dawn to train. My father rubs his face frustratedly, then stomps off behind Duron to the house, knowing he has lost. I look away, turning back to the woods, staring into the dense fog and endless darkness, peaking my interest to know what lies within its cover.
All of the mate nonsense has never stressed me out. If we were to never find our mate, I would be fine with that. I enjoy my solitude, and I don’t need some she-wolf that has been groomed to ruin my pack. Most Lunas are groomed from a young age, just like an alpha is. Only they learn about pack politics and running a pack house. Our pack is self-sufficient in that, though. Lacking a Luna for twenty-one years will do that to any pack.
I see no sense in changing that now and bringing in a she-wolf from outside of our pack. Someone is entitled and bound to cause trouble within my pack, which for the most part is peaceful and like a family. After all, who needs the unnecessary drama of having someone constantly go out of their way to please you?
Not me.
Can't take the heat? Fuslilis Pack Andricia Tranquility is something that my pack thrives on. Training has always helped us keep the peace between everyone through mutual respect. Every one of us is ranked and has the opportunity to move up or fall. The older we get, the lower our ranks get; the younger we are, the higher and faster we rise. As long as I can remember, I’ve been at the top. I lead my pack fiercely with no regrets; I demand respect and am given it. My warriors worship me, and the pups look up to me and wish to be me one day. My beta and gamma have my back with anything my pack may go through. The only other creatures we ever see are rotten rogues that stumble into our territory by accident. Once they enter, they never leave; they become our territory. Remains litter the outskirts of our grounds as lawn ornaments. We reside peacefully in our paradise, with no outsiders bothering us. My only worry is our numbers. When I took over, we had over 140 pack members. Now we
Head in a fog Golden Summit Samson My brothers and I have been on a strict schedule all week to prepare for our alpha ceremony on Sunday. From meeting with allies to discussing enemy packs. Brushing up on the laws of the pack and speaking with pack members individually to assure them of our competence to lead. It’s Friday, and I had planned to train all day. I woke at 4:45 and changed into shorts and sneakers. I started by running the territory. I ran up and down every road where the pack cottages are, then went for the border. After about 15 minutes of running the border, I make it to Culloden Woods. The sun is starting to rise, and the orange hues glisten in the woods. Even then, it doesn’t cut through the thick fog. It just illuminates it, giving the effect of a fire with smoke. I walk forward, right to the edge of our territory, toward the woods. Just as I am about to cross it into the woods, a hand grabs my arm and yanks me back roughly. I turn and snarl, only to be met with
Big bad alphas Golden Summit Cyrus My eyes peered open at the light flooding my room. My dad stands at the end of my bed, staring down at me. "Get up; we have to go over the vows today." With that, he exits my room, no doubt to wake my next brother. I clamber out of bed and head straight to the bathroom to wash the sleep from my face. I brush my teeth after and style my ash blonde hair in the traditional messy swoop style so it hangs to the right side of my face. I go and throw on some dark jeans and a blue hoodie with sneakers. *knock knock* My door flies open and in walks a grumpy Cyrus. His being the oldest suited him. He has such a bad attitude all the time, and he’s strict. He’s wearing nice, deep blue dress pants with a brown belt and brown shoes. A white button-up that he no doubt will end up rolling the sleeves up on. His hair is neat compared to its usual unstyled look that he wears around the house. "You're seriously wearing that?" He looks at me up and down with a f
Stripping in the woods Fusilis Andricia I wake up before sunrise, like always, and immediately throw on my training clothes. I tie my hair up in a high ponytail and head out of my room straight for the training field. The ash-filled soil crunches under my boots in the crisp fall air. When I make it to the training ground, I see all my warriors stretching out and running a lap to warm up. "Partner up!" I shout as they all immediately stop what they are doing and immediately partner up. Their partners match in size and skill based on their rank. They immediately begin sparring in hand-to-hand combat, just like every morning. It’s a routine that is always on schedule. I walk around watching every move, looking for any flaws that I don’t usually find anymore. When I start seeing flaws, I know that warriors will be dropping from their ranks soon. Everyone is replaceable in this world; no one is special. Following training I walk the perimeter with my lead warrior and Kira. She gives
Guests? Fusilis Cyrus The warrior continues to step forward. As soon as he makes it into the field where the bones lie, his body turns to ash and only bones remain. I hear the girl who yelled huff with frustration, and my eyes snap back to her. Anger rushes over me, and I feel it rush over my brothers as well. Taking in the alpha power and temper just an hour prior doesn’t help because we don’t know how to control them yet. "Stay here!" I linked all the warriors with my alpha command to save them. My brothers and I stalked across the field quickly. I am trying my hardest to keep my wolf at bay, but it is quite difficult. Within seconds, we are across the field and almost to the ladies, who seem confused, not frightened. The beta shook off her confused expression and replaced it with a stone-cold serious look that made my
What’s your name suga Fusilis Andricia Kira is now beside me, with Lorissa on the other side. They both look at me. I don’t take my eyes off the guys as they speak to me. "What do we do, Alpha?" Kira is concerned. "How are they still standing?" Lorissa asks, grabbing my hand. "Leave us." Without another word, every member of my pack goes into the pack house. My eyes dart to their warriors on the outside of the plague land, as we call it. My beast is urging me to go to the warriors. So I obey, walking casually over to the nine men who are built to kill. I hear the other four following behind me—not too close, but not that far either. When I get to the men, I stop looking at each one of them. Then to the ground, where the tenth warrior stood. I drop to my knee and hold my hand
Who do you think you are?Golden SummitAndriciaI turn to all of them with a genuine smile on my face, something I've never really experienced. They all look happy and excited. All the pack warriors they brought with them immediately left for the houses. I hear heavy, uneven footsteps heading straight for me, and my head snaps around. A large older man is barreling towards us with anger written all over his face. I turn my body and wait for the man to reach us and speak, as I do not know who he is. He seems familiar to me, though. The guys step right up next to me, closer than before our arms were touching. The fabric of their white shirts is amazingly soft. I just wanna—"Where the hell have you all been?" He doesn’t even acknowledge me, not even looking at me once."The elder has been waiting for you to bid him goodbye for over an hour now!" Th

I hear the older man sitting next to the guys yell as their dad backs away from the ring after the enchantment drops.I look to Samson, who comes to me immediately, looking back at what the enchantment did to me. I stop him, holding up my hand, slowly grabbing the syringe and pulling it out, throwing it to the ground. All the guys come around and spot the syringe."She’s been poisoned with obsidian." The old man steps up to us, looking at the syringe. My vision blurs for a second, and I stumble to the side. Sam immediately catches me, holding me close to his chest. The smell finally registered with me; it was them in my pack. The strange smell was coming from them. They smell like fresh rain to put out my blazing flame. The older guy comes to me, meeting me at e
