Two

The music coming from the club was hurting Anastasia’s ears which was quite sensitive because she was a werewolf. Elizabeth didn’t seem to mind, it seemed like she came to the club a lot.

They both wore really short and tight dresses that made their figure more pronounced. Anastasia doesn’t really own any clothes suitable for clubbing so Elizabeth borrowed her some.

She was already feeling uncomfortable as she stood in the moving line to the club. Her face must have shown how uncomfortable she felt because Elizabeth frowned when she saw her face.

“What’s wrong?” She asked

Anastasia forced a smile, she didn’t want to ruin their first ‘fun’ outing together.

“I’m okay actually, just really excited.” She lied. Her monotonous voice betrayed her.

Elizabeth didn’t look convinced and wanted to interrogate her more but they were already at the front of the line. The big bouncer smirked at them while Elizabeth blew him a flirtatious kiss.

A blast of different scents hit her as she entered the club. Different scents mingled as one all giving her a headache. This is why werewolves don’t usually live amongst humans.

Elizabeth pulled her to the bar while dancing to a song she had no idea of who sang.

“Hello pretty ladies. What can I get you?” The bartender asked. He had a boyish charm and his nose was slightly crooked. Maybe due to fights in his younger years she observed.

“Give us the strongest you have, we’re trying to get drunk!” Elizabeth said and slung an arm over Anastasia pulling her closer. She awkwardly smiled and pulled Elizabeth closer.

“You know werewolves can’t get drunk right?” Anastasia whispered into Elizabeth’s ear.

“We are not drinking alcohol for humans.” She replied as if stating the obvious.

The bartender got to work. Anastasia watched him closely then picked up his scent. He was a werewolf. She stared in surprise. Most werewolves tend to avoid humans; this one seemed to enjoy working amongst them.

“He knows what to mix in there to get a fully grown werewolf drunk.” Elizabeth continued with a smirk.

“Isn’t that illegal.” Anastasia said in a panic. She wasn’t ready to be disciplined by the council all in the name of ‘fun’.

“Oh come on, goody two shoes, live a little.” Elizabeth mocked her playfully, still swaying her hips to the music. Anastasia felt completely out of place, she wanted to have fun but just couldn’t get her body to unfreeze.

“Your drinks are ready.” The bartender said placing six shot glasses filled with glowing liquid in front of them. It looked weird. Weirdly good.

Elizabeth grabbed one and downed it one go. Her eyes got glassy immediately as she handed one over to Anastasia who took it wearily.

Immediately the liquid hit the back of her throat she felt her blood warming up. As if she got heated up all of a sudden. The alcohol didn’t burn and it was quite sweet. She laughed and didn’t know why.

“Yeah!!!” Elizabeth yelled, taking another shot, Anastasia took another too. They both laughed together. They started to dance and sang gibberish to the song. She was having so much fun.

“I need to use the restroom.” Elizabeth said after some time of dancing amongst sweaty humans. Anastasia nodded and continued dancing alone as she watched her friend make her way to the toilet line.

A hand went around her waist to dance with her. She flipped her head around in confusion and saw a human male frat boy trying to grind against her body.

“Back off.” Anastasia said suppressing a growl. The frat boy laughed and whispered into her ear.

“I know you want me, girl.” Gross.

She literally shivered in disgust. The frat boy saw it as an invitation and tried grinding against her again. Anastasia grabbed his hand and held it tight with her werewolf strength until she felt a crack. She had broken a bone.

His face turned red and he clenched his teeth in pain. She smirked as she let his hand go. He held his wrist and walked away in shame. He muttered ‘freak’ under his breath but she heard him despite the noise in the club. Werewolf hearing can be both a blessing and a curse.

Irritated, Anastasia walked back to the bar to order more drinks. She took three shots of alcohol and felt her blood buzzing again. As she approached the dance floor again to dance she bumped into a brick wall.

The brick wall was breathing and very well alive, with hazy eyes she looked up meeting dark eyes swirling with emotions. The noise of the club muted to barely a sound all she could hear was her heartbeat which thundered in her ears.

The handsome stranger stared down at her, his eyes filled with emotions. It was obvious what was happening with her was happening to him also. His hands brushed her arms and electricity literally crackled. His gaze was filled with intense heat. Anastasia blushed at the intensity of it.

They snapped out of it when a man bumped into them with slurred words, obviously drunk. The handsome stranger looked absolutely furious with this interruption and Anastasia snapped back to reality.

She pulled herself away from him in an instance of the connection breaking. She went into the crowd in an attempt to get away from the man.

“wait-” he said.

Despite the noise club his voice gave her shivers. Anastas

ia did not like the fact that she was losing control over her senses. She needed to leave.

Now.
