Chapter Seven.

Amelia’s POV.

“Good morning, Mr. Jarvis,” I said again, my voice louder this time.

Finally, Greyson looked up at me, his eyes scanning my body like I was a bug under a microscope. I felt myself tense up as he let out a hiss and walked past me, almost knocking me over. I stood there, frozen, as he disappeared into the house.

Had he been upset that I had seen him last night? I watched as he climbed the stairs, my hands on my waist. I felt a sting of hurt that he had just ignored me like that. I stuck my middle fingers up at him, even though I knew he couldn't see me.

I walked over to the dining table and sat down, my thoughts racing. I had thought we would have a good relationship. Had I done something wrong? I was unable to think of anything, but my heart was racing with worry.

I began to shove the bread and tea into my mouth, almost choking myself in the process. I slowed down, taking a deep breath. I wondered if Greyson was always like this with his staff, or if it was just me.
