No, no, I can't possibly be pregnant. This can't be happening to me right now, it can't. Not after taking the step to make things right and finally get free from all this, to free myself and Lore too.

I keep staring at the pregnancy test, two lines, two red lines blink back at me and I wish it was all just a dream.

I asked Asah to leave me alone, I wanted time to come to terms with the fact that I'm carrying a child inside of me, a child I'm not supposed to be carrying, a child of a man who my family and I have been deceiving for one good year, a man I hurt with my constant rejection.

I place my hand on my belly and a tear slides down my cheek.

A child, growing inside of me. A life.

Pregnancy tests lie sometimes right? They're not always a hundred percent correct, maybe Asah should get me another one.

I leave the bedroom in search of her and find her in the kitchen.

"Asha," she turns around. "I need you to get me another pregnancy test."
