CHAPTER 10

MIA’S POV

Knocking loudly on Tyler’s door, I looked around frantically in fright.

“Tyler, are you inside? Please open the door” I shouted. My feet were sore from running, I was completely drenched by the rain. My teeth were chattering due to my shivering state. I was cold.

I heard a click on the doorknob, making me sigh in relief. Tyler opened the door, I couldn't help myself from crashing into his chest. I let all the tears out.

He helped me inside before slamming the door shut.

“Pearl? What happened, why are you outside at this time?” he questioned, his voice filled with worry.

I buried my face in his chest, soaking his shirt with my wet dress. “ You were right. He is a monster” I burst into tears. I thought there was an ounce of love in him. I was wrong to think Denver had other emotions aside from anger and rage.

“Shhh,I'm here. You are safe here” He cooed. “Why don’t you go upstairs and change? I’ll make you a hot cup of tea ” He grinned, trying to make me feel better.
