Chapter 9

TRISTAN’S POV

THE NEXT DAY

"Go ahead and knock, we need to see how our mate is fairing," Grey whined in my head nonstop.

He was eager to see Davina again after what happened last night, we were both drawn to our hurting mate.

I crazily spent half the night in her arms, she didn't notice though, I was really careful not to raise an alarm, thanks to Grey all he wanted was to be super close to her.

He made my life a living hell until I accepted and sneaked into her room for 4 hours straight. It was hard leaving her all by herself but I had to do it. It would be better if she noticed my scent rather than find me wrapping my hands around her.

My fist paused halfway, not touching her door, I couldn't do it, I lacked the confidence.

"Some other time Grey, there's a lot of work to do." I reversed and left for the elevator.

"You wasted the opportunity Tristan, if she means nothing to you, let it be clear that she means a lot to me. Stop hurting our mate." Grey howled angered by my actions.

"Quit playing dumb Grey, you knew after what occurred those past years, I wasn't the same again. I will appreciate it if we stop talking about Davina, She's just the Luna of this pack and nothing else.

The elevator ding opened and I stepped out, I had a meeting with Michael about our pack alliance.

Unfortunately, the Crescent Moon pack had formed a strong alliance with the Golden Stone pack. It was made on forceful terms, as both packs had one common enemy.

Dean Kali ,Alpha of the Night Shadow pack, they have been in on us for years, but thankfully after we joined forces with Micheal's pack, the attacks stopped. I know it's not forever, that's why I am trying to extend my territory.

I got to the meeting hall and found Michael in a secluded corner, conversing with a lady who I very much recognized by her scent.

"Meyers!!! I thundered, causing her to flinch. I took fast strides towards them and came in– between.

"Alpha Tristan!" She bowed her head.

Meyers looked frightened to see me, she bowed, refusing to stare at me. I had warned every pack member about Michael and I didn't care if they thought I was being paranoid. Truth is I just hate this man, and he feels more like a threat than a partner to me.

"Leave!" I said icily.

Meyers scurried off like she was being chased and I rechanneled back to Michael who had a smirk on his face, I guess the punch last night didn't make a change.

"Stay away from my pack members, you have no business with anyone except me, You come here for me and no one else," I growled, closing the distance between us.

"Yes, your majesty." His tone held sarcasm and I almost bit my lips out of annoyance. I took deep breaths and took my seat resting my hands on the large wooden table.

DAVINA’S POV

The morning sun blared in my room, disrupting my sleep. I yawned while stretching on my bed. My eyes drifted to the digital clock, a minute past eight stared right back at me.

Juanita didn't come, she was usually in my room by this time, my head ached and it reminded me of what Tristan did to me.

I knew Lexie already healed me, but the morning headache was mood-souring.

I sniffed, clearing my nose blockage, and perceived that enchanting scent of Citrus. It lingered everywhere, I sniffed my nightie and it was there too. This meant Tristan came by my room last night ,but when?

My lips subconsciously stretched into a smile, I grew Instant happiness, but it didn't last as memories of last night flashed into my head. Tristan possessiveness made me cringe. It didn't leave a good feeling knowing he did that because of the mate bond.

Juanita and Cassy came in minutes later, apologizing for coming late, I took no offense and got ready for the day.

I stepped out in a red peplum dress, and black heels, and let down my long brown hair. As Luna, casual wear was no longer for me.

Juanita and Cassy left while I stayed in my room for a few minutes before stepping out. The consistent jiggling sounds of the door knob made me pause on my track.

Frightened for a minute, I walked towards Tristan door and met a tiny-looking lady twisting the doorknob repeatedly, she had plans of opening it up.

When I said the tiny-looking lady, I meant a child, but with the way she presented herself in a pink crop top, mini white skirt and jacket, and a cute white snicker, her hair let down with a big pink bow on it. Who wouldn't mistake her for a lady.

"Hi. Urm Miss!" I waved from where I stood and this young and bold woman turned to me with a frown, a really cute one.

Her big Green eyes reminded me of  Tristan’s, they looked the same, she had red lips too, but she had brown hair, while Tristan was black.

"Hello. Have you seen Daddy, the doors not opening up, I wanna see him?" She pouted her lips and twisted the door knob again.

Daddy? Who is her father and why is she trying to get into Tristan’s room? I think she's lost.

"Okay Amigo, who is your Father? I could help you search for him, would you like that?" I asked in the sweetest voice, it made her smile.

"I am not Amigo, I am Tammy, silly." She replied, dipping her hand into her miniature purse, and bringing out a phone. That shit looked expensive, it made me wonder whose daughter she was.

Suddenly she placed the phone to her ear and tapped her foot on the floor impatiently.

My mouth formed a silent 'Wow'. "Daddy!!!" She squealed, fuming like an angry lion.

"I can't find you, where are you? But today is our U and I time, come take me now." She paused listening to whatever her father was saying, the frown on her face vanished, replaced with sad eyes. She did not look happy and I am guessing her father said something about the situation.

"You promised and now you are breaking it. Why do you always say that? I HATE YOU!" She snapped and threw her phone to the ground.

Her anger startled me, just like Tristan, and why she had so many similarities with him confused me.

"Hey Tammy, please don't cry, I am sure Daddy has a reason for not showing up. You know what, why don't you tell me who your father is? I could talk to him. I wiped her spilling tears and pinched her cheek softly.

"Thank you Silly, but the Alpha never really has time to talk to anyone, and now he's doing the same to me."

THE ALPHA? Tristan has a daughter, and no one told me about it.

"The Alpha? Alpha—Tristan? You are his daughter?" I threw questions at the girl, shocked by her revelation.

"Yes Silly, do you have the keys to his room, I wanna give him a piece of my mind."

"What?"

"Keys to my Daddy's room, I wanna wreck it."

"How old are you?" The question slipped out of my mouth. She didn't cease to amaze me with her tantrums, maturity mixed with childishness.

"Five! I know it's quite an age." She sighed and picked up her phone.

I felt bad for Tammy, she got all decked up for her father and daughter time but Tristan bailed on her. I was one to care about others' feelings,so I thought of something to cheer her up.

"Tammy, I know we just met, but will you go out with me?"

"Like a date?"

"What! No, I mean like a friend bonding date." I bit my lower lip realizing she was right. "Yes, a date."

Her smile returned and she looked cheerful again." Yes, let's get going." She grabbed my hand and pulled me along with her.

Tristan and Javier were out, so I was left to tell Juanita about my outing with Tammy. She got a car ready and we left with the chauffeur.

Tammy took me to all her favorite spots, the park, a pastry shop, an ice cream cart, and the wild roller coasters. Then we sat on the bench and I told her about myself, not the full detail but the fact that I came from another pack to be Golden Stone's Luna.

I also enjoyed her company, she didn't say much about herself and I wonder what Tristan must have done to raise such a smart-mouthed kid. But then she said something shocking.

"If you are my Luna, then you must be the lady Daddy promised to get married to." She had said.

Her innocent words hunted me, Tristan and I were getting married, and still yet no one told me about it. My hands grew wet with perspiration. I couldn't go into an eternal bond with Tristan who doesn't even care about me.

The sun was down when we returned, I held Tammy in my arms, her eyes were shot in deep slumber.

"Welcome Luna Davina." Juanita greeted, her head bowed, she fiddled with her fingers at intervals which was odd.

"Is something wrong ?" I asked handing Tammy to the elderly woman who tagged along with Juanita.

"It's Alp…." Juanita paused on her track, fear engulfed her eyes as she stared behind me.

I swerved and met furious Green eyes staring at me. "Alpha Tri…." I attempted to bow but got roughly pulled instead.

Tristan threw me into the elevator and got in as well, the door closed and he turned to me still fuming.

He pinned me to the wall and yelled."Who gave you the right to take my daughter out of the pack house? Un–Fucking–Guarded. How dare you even speak to her."

"I–I j–just wanted to m–make her feel better." I stuttered, fear rising in my chest.

"You had no right Davina, no right to go close to my daughter, Stop crossing your limit and stay the Fuck away from me and my family." Tristan voice grew louder and it almost pierced my eardrums.

By now my tears had dropped, and fine tremors rushed through my body as I tried to get his violent and aggressive actions out of my head.

I rushed out the moment the door slid open, I went to my room and closed the door behind me, I ran to my bed and slipped under the duvet.

I didn't know helping a kid was an offense to Tristan, everything I did was an offense. I was still shaken from the encounter, I got so scared I couldn't remove the duvet from my head. It was like a monster was out there trying to destroy me.

I cried for hours, sniffling and sobbing, hidden under my duvet, I heard the door open and the sweet smell of citrus filled my nostrils. I didn't move an inch, ignoring his presence in my room.

I heard his steps approach my bed, but what I didn't expect was him laying next to me. I froze when his large hands encircled my tiny waist, drawing me closer.

I cursed the fact that it felt good and in less than a minute, my fear diminished and sleep took over, drawing me into an abyss of darkness.
