Chapter 8

TRISTAN’S POV

THREE HOURS LATER

"Davina did great, I didn't expect her to approach the pack so well, I am impressed with my choice., " Javier said, rolling around in his seat as usual.

"Yeah me either, she was good but you know that's not where it stops, we have to train her to become a qualified Luna," I replied, signing off some documents.

My mind wandered to how Davina looked so breathtaking in her Gold dress, I loved her courtesy and willfulness, something I have not seen in a woman for a long time.

"Our mate is perfect, why don't you just accept her already," Grey growled in my head but I ignored him. That's all he keeps talking about. Our mate, I can't believe he would think of a woman or urge me to accept one after what happened in the past. Never.

"Tristan, are you seriously working at your Luna's coronation party? The party has already started. Let's join the others. I heard we have a lot of guests we could transact with.

"Go without me, and make the transactions, I need to finish this paperwork before I can join you all, so excuse me." I took out another brown-covered document and began signing.

"Alright, show up early Tristan, remember it's your Luna's coronation, it's not something An Alpha should miss, we can't have people figuring out what they have no business with. " Javier got up and left.

I spent an hour signing documents until my butt ached. I got up exhausted and stretched to relieve my sore joints.

I heeded Javier’s words and went to the party, the sun was almost down indicating time had gone by.

I avoided raising attention to my arrival and just watched the party from a distance. I searched around for her and found her in a quiet corner, drinking a glass of wine.

Her movements mesmerized me, was it the mate bond or me, impossible, obviously it was the mate bond, I would never feel an ounce of attraction for any lady especially not her.

I kept my eyes on her all through and got alarmed when Candace approached her. She had a warm smile on her face, I breathed a sigh, happy she did not recognize Candace as the lady I had sex with a week ago.

Wait why do I even care if she knew who I got intimate with, it's none of her business what I do with my life.

Grey purred in my mind "Are you sure?" He asked while I remained silent.

My worry returned as the smile on Davina's face vanished like it was never there, I could sense something was wrong.

I approached them unnoticed, ears dropping on their conversation.

"Sadly, Tristan had to get stuck with an excuse like you, he deserves so much better, not a nobody hailing from the slum," Candace said rudely, my eyes flashed listening to her act so rude to Davina.

Davina said nothing in return, she couldn't because of the presence of other people, but that didn't apply to me.

"Did you know, Tristan and I were once lovers, he was so crazy for all still is, that he craves for me all the time. I bet you saw us on just one of our escapades." Candace said and I paused on my track.

Shit! She revealed it to her, it felt like my biggest secret had been exposed. The hurt in her eyes had my shoulders weighing heavily on me.

"Candace! I let out a silent snarl, glaring hard at her. She looked frightened to see me and tried to run away when I grabbed her hand in a tight grip, bruising it in the process.

"Watch your tongue, one more word against your Luna, I will have it cut out," I warned and released my grip, she scurried off immediately and I turned to find an angry Davina staring back at me before I could say another word, she walked out on me, leaving the party hall, no one noticed the tension between us and I was grateful.

I followed her out and began searching around for her, I went back to the main packhouse but it was empty, I searched her room also empty.

I asked around but no one had seen where she went, the garden was the last place on my mind, cause I had not been there in a while.

I went to the garden and found her scent lingering around the flowers. "Finally!" I breathed out going in to find Davina.

At last, I found her, but she wasn't alone; she was with Michael, Alpha of the Crescent Moon pack, the second largest pack in the whole of America.

The very sight of him angered me, they were engrossed in a conversation to not have noticed me, Davina had a blue suit jacket wrapped around her shoulders and I needed no soothsayer to tell me it was Micheal's

My anger tripled and I completely lost my mind. I confronted them, throwing Micheal's jacket off Davina's’ shoulder.

"What is going on here?" I snapped at Micheal who smirked in return.

"I was just conversing with Luna Davina here, I hope you have no problem with that Alpha."

"I have a problem with you placing your wretched jacket on my Luna, she's mine let it sink deep."

Micheal laughed and placed his hands on my shoulder, he leaned in and whispered," You claim she is yours but yet I can't find your mark on her, does that mean she's open to all." I couldn't control myself anymore, I landed a heavy punch in his mouth causing him to stagger backward.

"Alpha Michael." She gasped rushing to check on Michael, who kept groaning."

Her concerned gesture made me immensely angry, so I grabbed a hold of her hand and pulled her with me. I care less about who was watching, so I took her back to our floor and released her hand.

"What is wrong with you Alpha Tristan, why did you act so foolish out there," Davina said and my palm subconsciously connected to her face. It was so hard that her head collided with the wall.

My anger subsided as I watched her slump to the ground groaning in pain, blood oozing out of her head.

I helped her up and carried her in a bridal style, panic swiveled through me. How could I let my anger get the best of me, I hurt her and felt remorseful.

I took her to her room and left to get the first aid box, I returned and cleaned up her wound, dabbing the bruise with a cotton wool and methylated spirit, I knew she would heal, but my conscience pricked hard on me, that I just couldn't leave her on her own.

I showed quite a lot of emotions today because of this woman and I hated it. I got up without a word and left her alone. Hopefully, she feels better now.

"Why are you leaving?" Her face held so many emotions, but I could tell she was more confused and frustrated than ever. It should remain that way.

I left heading straight to my mini-bar, I needed to cool my head off before I would do something stupid.
