Chapter 3 MINE!

(Author's POV)

Ezekiel was walking alone along the roadside of the Dead Forest. The moonlight reflected on his body, revealing his long cyan hair that fluttered gently with the wind.

He was on his way back home when suddenly, “Hm...? Humans...” He noticed a group of cargos moving in a row along the bumpy road of the Dead Forest.

"Another wagonload of slaves? How dare humans call us werewolves evil? Heh."

They were headed in his direction as he couldn't help but let out a low groan, “How boring. Don't you think so too, Cadis?” He said to his wolf

'Indeed. Let's go Ezekiel, the moon is turning pink.' Cadis warned

Ezekiel looked up and also saw the moon turning pink, it did look like it was time to go.

Although they wouldn't possess any threat against him, dealing with filthy humans was still too much of a bother.

But to his surprise, as the humans were approaching, he suddenly caught a smell not belonging to a human, but to someone like him, a werewolf. It piqued his interest as he suddenly revealed a faint smile.

"Cadis do you smell a wolf?" He tried to confirm to Cadis

But this time his wolf didn't answer him, and he had to mutter alone that

“So, humans are now trading wolves, huh? Should I take a look?” He muttered, curiosity overwhelmed his aversion to deal with humans.

Ezekie walked towards the human wagon, he wanted to see which unlucky weak werewolf was captured by the human.

But as he got closer to the human, the smell got stronger, and it was the first time Ezekie had ever smelled something so captivating.

"Cadis, this smell..." But he hadn't finished his sentence when

"Mine!" Cadis shouted in his mind.

That sudden news really gave him quite a surprise. He always thought he wouldn't have a MATE...

"Ezekiel, I'm sure that's our MATE! But why can't I talk to her wolf? Why!" Cadis simply couldn't calm down as he kept urging Ezekie over and over again to save their MATE.

" Calm Down! Cadis" Ezekie was sick of feeling so out of control, he still preferred to have everything under control.

"Ezekie, I can feel she's in bad condition! She wants to die! We have to save her! If you don't want to go, let me out and I will save her!" Cadis shouted

Well. His mate should be held captive by the humans to be sold as a slave or something.

And also, she was not in a good condition. No matter how he looked at it, it was something that couldn't be said good in any way.

That being said, Ezekiel, who never intended to bother himself with humans, decided to meddle with their business just this once.

The cargos then stopped right in front of him. Ezekiel was ready to stop the cargo forcefully, he didn't need to put extra effort anymore.

When he seeing them up close, Ezekiel could see the other party pointing their crossbows at him. But well, that wouldn't be enough to worry him. Even if it was a silver arrow, such a trivial thing could only catch his attention at best.

“State your business, werewolf!” Lucas then spoke loudly. But a trace of fear could be heard in the tone of his voice. Still, he acted like he wasn't afraid at all as he continued, “Hurry up and scram! We don't want unnecessary blood to be shed in this place!”

But Ezekiel didn't reply right away, making the atmosphere become tense and heavy. On the other hand, seeing that there was still no response, Lucas was noticeably annoyed. If this went on, then he might really obey his urge to shoot.

He was just about to speak again when suddenly...

“Hm, I think I saw her, is that her? Cadis?” Ezekiel finally spoke. His tone of voice was cold and devoid of emotions. It could terrify anyone who might hear him.

'That's her, oh, she really doesn't look too good' Cadis replied

"She doesn't seem to recognize us? Can't she sense us?" Ezekiel looked at Alexa with the same shocked expression as those stupid humans.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Lucas asked, as he couldn't help gritting his teeth in response. He felt like this guy was ignoring him as he didn't put him in his eyes. That surely was a distasteful feeling.

But instead of answering him again, Ezekiel suddenly asked. No, it felt more like an order as he said nonchalantly, “Give her to me. If you do, I might consider sparing your lowly lives.”

Everyone's people looked at Alexa, some of them envious and some of them sympathetic. After all, being taken away by such a man is not necessarily a good thing.

Alexa was also stumped, she knew, of course, that this man was a werewolf. And she didn't expect him to really come to her rescue, but why? Should she be happy?

On the other hand, Lucas thought that this man just saw the beauty of '1 million' and wanted to try to snatch it without paying. He finally lost it.And he pulled the trigger of the crossbow.

SWOOSH!

With that short distance, he easily hit the target and shot him in his right chest. That made Lucas wear a wide grin on his lips.

However, that surprise turned into shock when suddenly, an arrow came flying toward Lucas. The arrow was swift enough for their eyes to not follow its trail. As such, before Lucas could react on time, the arrow hit him directly in the middle of his neck, going into his nape.

It went without saying, Lucas was killed in one attack, by his own arrow.

“Ugh... Silver arrow is really a distasteful thing, right?”Ezekiel spoke again. He wasn't down at all. Everyone there heard him as if speaking lightly after being pierced by a silver arrow.

The shock Roger felt at that moment soon turned into terror. He shifted his widened eyes to the one who caused Lucas' death as he couldn't help but swallow a mouthful of saliva.

"Again, give her to me." His voice contained utter coldness that could cause anyone to be frozen in fear.

Why does it say "Author's POV" when it's Ezekiel and Cadis? That makes no sense.
