“Siana please help us with this.” In no time, Siana had a heavy plate of food orders in her hands. “Give it to table 6.” Ann told her with a smile on her face.
Siana smiled back but sighed as she turned around. It was currently 5.30 pm and she had gotten done with college about half an hour ago and now she was at her part-time job. She was supposed to work there for 6 hours but she was tired already from everything that had happened during the day.
There was a bright smile on her face the whole time she was working there cause she didn’t want things in her personal life to affect her work or the other people around her. Siana felt uncomfortable if anyone asked her how she was or if something was wrong.
Ignoring everything going on in her life, Siana just focused on her work as she served customers in that restaurant. It was a pretty famous one so they were really busy in the evening. Her already tired body was tired out even more by working constantly for the rest of the day. However, she didn’t want to take any breaks in between. Verona’s reappearance suspicion had messed up her mind again and she didn’t want to be free enough to think about her again as it just brought back all the pain.
Keeping a positive attitude for the rest of the day did help Siana feel better, she was starting to forget about the occurrences of the day.
“Siana…? Why are you looking so pale?” Ann, her coworker asked as she patted Siana’s shoulder lightly.
“Oh! Nothing I just zoned out for a bit..” Siana replied with her usual smile as she continued to stare in the same direction that she had been for some time. Her fists clenched tightly as she looked as if waiting for something to happen.
Ann didn’t quite believe her and looked in the same direction. There seemed to be nothing there, Siana was just blankly staring toward the street which was getting emptier as the clock got closer to 12. Giving Siana a sympathetic pat on the shoulder, Ann continued with her work while Siana on the other hand didn’t budge for a few more seconds.
“I’m pretty sure I saw someone there….” Siana thought to herself as she continued with her work again. “But as soon as I saw them, it was as if they disappeared into thin air.”
Even though she saw nothing, she still had a strong feeling that someone was watching her, keeping an eye on her from a distance. The paranoid feeling didn’t go away no matter how much time passed and before she knew it, Siana was walking towards her home.
She clenched her bag tightly as she keep a look for anything strange around her. Her heart was too scared but her brain didn’t want to back out the cause of some creepy stalker she had just met that day so she kept going no matter how much her paranoia increased.
*Present time-2 am*
Siana was sleeping soundly in her bed, Kai had covered her up with blankets and was sitting at the end of the bed, he was in human form like any other night. Everything was normal but he could sense that something bad was about to happen at any minute. Seeing Siana’s condition, how she had closed all doors and windows and kept a knife under her pillow. He knew something really bad had happened that day.
Usually, ferals had the power to enter anyone’s memories but somehow, he was unable to do that to Siana completely. He had seen her memories of the day, he only saw certain things like the hallway incident with Chloe, that guy threatening her, and Chloe apologizing. Even in those memories, certain words or faces were blurred out completely.
Kai was also unable to read her thoughts which were very easy to do with others. It was as if something was stopping him from entering the deeper. There were certain things and memories that she had suppressed deep inside her subconscious. It seemed as if she was even stopping herself from looking at those fragments of her past.
Kai was lost in his thoughts as he heard footsteps. He flinched as he heard them and was ready to attack whoever was about to come inside. He was still in human form and was planning to stay the same as he was stronger that way. He lifted his hand in front of him and his cat nails came out with just one thought of wanting to do so.
However, before he could attack the person who was coming closer, the doorbell rang and Kai took back his cat nails as soon as he heard that sound. He turned around immediately to see if Siana was awake, fortunately enough for him, she was still asleep but the bell sound had made her move a little bit.
Kai’s ears moved and he could tell that this wasn’t going to be the only bell that he was going to hear for the time being. He didn’t want to take any chances in front of Siana and turned into cat form immediately. He was ready to change forms and attack whoever was at the door if they turned out to be suspicious.
Just as expected, the doorbell rang again, twice this time. The visitor seemed eager and impatient and that just rose Kai’s suspicions cause they never had any visitors so late at night.
The second bell snapped Siana out of her sleep and she jumped up in shock. It took her a minute to realize where she was and what exactly was happening around her. Kai walked closer to her and meowed in a comforting tone. Siana managed to give him a faint smile but all her focus was on the doorbell.
Who could it be? It couldn’t be any of her friends, they all knew about her part-time jobs and never visited so late at night.
Her guess was that it was the stalker who had followed her home and was trying to threaten her again. She didn’t even know what he wanted from her or why he was following her for so long. She couldn’t get so scared of someone she didn’t even know and thus she chose not to hide there. She had to face him and she was able to face him and he couldn’t hurt her.
Siana moved her hand under the pillow and took out the knife that she had hidden earlier. She didn’t want to take a chance, if it was someone dangerous, she’d at least try to fight them. She didn’t want to run away from her fears anymore.
Still, it took her some time to gather the courage to get up and face whoever was waiting to maybe even kill her.
The longer Siana took, the more the doorbell started to ring. She mustered up the courage to walk to the door and the only thing that was left was turning the handle. She tried even to silence her breaths in order to listen to what was happening outside. But all in vain as the outside seemed just as quiet as her instead of the pressing of the doorbell button.
At last, Siana gave up. She gripped the knife properly and hit it behind her back. With the other hand, she slowly opened the door, for now, just enough to see who was outside.
As the door started to open, light entered the living area and it took Siana some time to get used to the brightness but she tried her best as she wanted to know who was at the door.
But did she really want to know…?
As her eyes finally gained focus on the figure that stood outside, she was a little taken aback.
That figure didn’t match the stalker at all. Instead, it was a girl.
She wore a beige skirt with cream thigh-highs and black boots. A knitted sweater over a plain white shirt and blonde hair tied into a ponytail with a blue ribbon at the top.
That style…
Siana was way too familiar with it. Finally, her eyes focused on the face of that person…the one part, her heart was the most scared to identify.
The knife dropped from her hand as she finally recognized her.
“V…Verona…”
“V…Verona…” Siana whispered under her breath as she stared at the figure that stood outside her door. She finally saw that same bright smile again and it brought tears to her eyes immediately. The smile reassured her they both still felt the same way, that they were still what they were 5 years also and Verona was still madly in love with Siana. What was even happening? Why was Verona here? If she had come back, why didn’t she meet her in the library? Why was she hiding for so long? If they were done already, why had she come back now? There were several unanswered questions in her mind. However, Siana chose to ignore them all and pulled the door wide open. With no other words, she jumped into Verona’s arms who was much taller than her. Verona laughed as she caught her and hugged her back. “Hi honey…” Verona whispered into her eyes as she squeezed her closer. She had a bright smile on her face as she held the love of her life close in her arms. “How you been, my love?” All the ans
Pitch-black darkness…even after she opened her eyes, Siana couldn’t see anything. She was confused by what was happening and had no idea where she was. When she moved her hands, she realized that her hands had suddenly turned small and so was her whole body. She became a child somehow…about a 5-year-old child.Once she moved from her place she realized that she was inside an unfamiliar room. There were no lights on and therefore it was dark. Siana got down from the bed which was a hard task with her tiny body. Still, she pulled herself and walked towards the door, the creaks of which provided the only light in that room. She opened the door slowly and walked into a completely different and vintage hallway. There were pictures of queens and kings on the walls, the windows showed a sigh of just endless forests. It seemed like she was in a castle and that confused Siana even more. She heard some voices from the distance and she walked towards them. They led her to a room that looked li
The message on Siana’s phone confused her but she didn’t want to do anything about it. She had gotten too scared the day before by everything that he had done to her so she didn’t want to walk into the darkness voluntarily. Time was passing like sand and Siana spent all of it just sitting on the couch, wondering what had happened with Verona last night and how she had just left without a trace. Why did she have to do that? She felt something rub against her leg and flinched from suddenness. Once she looked down, she saw Kai rubbing against her legs as if he was trying to comfort her. “How do you always know how I feel?” She said as she sighed. She bent down and picked up Kai. And after half an hour of zoning out, she finally got up. She carried him to the bedroom and fell onto the bed. “I don’t know what to do…” She sighed deeply as she felt conflicted by all the mess that occurred in less than a day. Kai sat close to her and licked her hand. She smiled faintly and petted his head
“Sorry…I don’t know who you are…” Verona said in a confused tone as she looked at Siana calmly. “Hey! She already said she doesn’t know you so let go of her!” Lilia, Chloe’s best friend said in a raised voice as she intended to let everyone know what was happening. Her motive once again was to embarrass Siana. Siana looked up and observed what faces they all were making. Her hand was still tightly holding onto Verona’s wrist. Chloe and Lilia stood on either of Verona’s sides, the former was composed and calm but she too was pretending as if she didn’t know Siana as she didn’t want anyone to question her or find out that the two of them got along pretty well. Lilia on the other hand was very obviously annoyed and was rolling her eyes as she stared at Siana. “Let go already!” She said as she pushed Siana away who moved a few steps back. “Lilia…” Chloe said in a sighing tone as she just stood there and looked away as if she never saw that sight. She wanted to get out of there but it
*An hour later, in the gym room*“And that’s pretty much all… she just pretended as if nothing ever happened and walked away.” Chloe looked worriedly at Alex once again who stood there with a serious expression.“Why did you have to cause all that drama and cry? What did she even do to you?” He questioned her as he stared at her coldly. “Baby…she’s always ruining my day and stealing you from me. I just had enough at this point. I can’t handle her threats anymore and her claiming that you’re hers. I need you all to myself and I don’t want her interfering in our life anymore…” Chloe once again started her acting and sobbed loudly as she hugged him. “She makes me insecure and scared and I just can’t handle it any more honey…please believe me.” Alex sighed and rubbed her back. Chloe smiled cunningly as she watched him turn softer with each passing second. “I do believe you…but you can’t be acting this way. You have to worry about your reputation as well.” He cupped her cheeks and wiped
“So what’s the plan?” Elijah asked as he sat down next to Siana, who was once again lost in her thoughts. “They’re all here…just as we had planned. We got them all together after so many years…” Siana nodded along but didn’t say anything for a while. “We’ll wait for them to attack first…let them feel like they’re ahead of us. And as usual, keep your identity secret. Don’t even let them get suspicious about it.” She wanted him as she looked coldly into his eyes. “Yes, I will be careful of it.” He lowered his head as he agreed to it. “I have to go now, be careful with everything.” She picked up her back and got ready to leave. It was already 8 pm and it was dark outside. Elijah got up and walked her to the door. “Don’t let her get to your head.” He advised her as he had noticed her zoning out ever since he had talked about her. It seemed like Verona was going to be her biggest enemy but she had already turned into her weakness. She had loved her truly way before she had known
Siana’s feet stopped moving as soon as she entered the hallway toward her apartment. All the efforts that she had made to keep herself together went in vain as her heart dropped and she felt a rush of emotions taking over her. After being so close to Chloe and ignoring Siana completely, what was Verona even doing here? She stood before her door, leaning against the wall, wearing a black leather jacket that Siana had difficulty recognizing. Her hair was left loose and it fell softly onto her shoulders as she fixed her eyes on her phone, a sly smile all over her face. The leather jacket over the white shirt and the pants made her unrecognizable to Siana as she had never seen Verona dress that way. She stood still without any moment for a few seconds as she just tried to figure out who this person in front of her actually was. She had never seen that sly smile before and therefore was unable to understand what it meant. She could tell that the person in front of her wasn't the one sh
*age 4*“But mom why can’t I marry Krissy?” Siana asked with a pout on her face as she tugged on the corner of her mother’s dress. Siana wore a pink dress which looked good with her light brown hair and the tiny pink shoes she was wearing. “Cause she’s a girl Siana, you’re supposed to marry a guy.” Her mother patted her head lightly. Siana looked up at her and there she was. That pretty woman she admired the most as a child. Her birth mother; The Queen. The brown hair was fixed so perfectly into a bun, complementing her light complexion. She had a lavender dress on which went down her knees and it announced that she was royalty. Her hand that was placed on her head seemed so light and fragile as if she needed to be protected. If any hurt got to her she’d break. But her eyes were so determined and strong that Siana knew no matter what, her mother won’t give up without a fight. However, she was proved wrong later on in her life once she was sent away and her identity was hidden from
