CHAPTER 8

"Mommy, that's not true!" Still, I denied.

"Tone down your voice Yasha Reese Heuson," Daddy disobeyed me. I sighed heavily, then I faced him.

"Daddy, that's not really true," my voice is almost pleading. Why they can't believe in me?

"Sweetie, there is nothing wrong with that, okay?" Mommy's tone weakened and then she approached me and made me sit on the couch beside them. "I will be more glad hearing that you're engaged already. You're not getting any younger, Yasha. You need to settle down yourself now." She expressed while fixing some strands of my hair but what she uttered caused me to close my eyes.

I'm actually getting tired of explaining everything here and there, yet they won't believe me in the end.

"Mommy you know me. I have no time to think about my lovelife. And for Pete's sake, I just turned 25 last month. I am still busy with my modeling career, with the showbiz industry and in my restaurant. So please believe me this time, I am not engaged and I am not going to marry someone I do not know!" My tone raised just by thought of me marrying someone especially if it's that Axis guy.

I just covered my head using my hands when Mommy hit me again.

"Mommy, I told you not to hit my head!" I complained. Why does she keep hitting my head? What's her problem with my head?

"You and your fiance have already hidden your relationship from us. Now you also want to deny about your engagement?" She scolded, her eyes even widened.

"Mommy, that stupid idiot is not really my fiance!" I exclaimed irritably.

"Now you're calling him stupid idiot?" Mom arched her brows. I sneered.

"So, that man is even more on your side, Mom?" My mom and my dad did not listen to me. They stood up suddenly and left without looking back. Then when they were already at the door, that's the only time when they turned to me.

"Anyway sweetie, I want to meet your fiance as soon as possible," then they went outside.

I just exhaled a deep breath and lazily threw myself on the couch. I can't believe this! I really can't believe this!

Days passed and today, I'm wearing a simple sleeveless dress and paired it with a wedge. I'm planning to go visit my restaurant today. Maneuvering my car, I headed my way there. As usual, there are many customers.

I named my restaurant “Reese” and it's based from my second name.

I went in there and the customers almost murmured. They were talking about the news again. What would I expect? I just smiled sparingly and kept going in.

"Good afternoon Ma'am Reese." The cook, waiter and waitress greeted me. They used to call me Reese here not Yasha.

"Good afternoon." I greeted back and smiled at them. I headed to my cubicle and sat there. I don't have my own office here. I just have a small cubicle so I can see the customers themselves.

"Oh you're back. How's life?" Aishi asked teasingly.

"What do you think?" I asked back, not interested.

"Stressed?" Then she laughed hard. I just went to my table and sighed.

"Hey Yash. Don't you know who your fiance is?" I immediately turned my gaze on her and I noticed that she was smiling. Her arms were rested on my cubicle, still flashing a smile on me.

Wow! It seems like just the other day, she was worried at me. She even wanted to track me down when I hop in in Axis' car and now, why does she seem to be teasing and making fun of me with her questions?

"No. And why the hell would I care?" She laughed again. She's acting strange, isn't she?

"Well, he's Axis Ford Averion, one of the youngest bachelors in town and he owns the Averion Company which is—"

"I don't care," I cut her off. Just by hearing his name annoys my inside.

"Do you have no intention of knowing who you are going to marry?"

"AISHI JOANNA!" I exclaimed her name loudly and almost all the customers looked at our direction but she just laughed at me. This woman.

"Will you just please stop?" Weakly but emphatically I asked her. "Look, I am so busy with my own life to think about other people's lives, so the hell I care who he was?" I asked, annoyed.

"Fine," she raised both of her hands as if giving up. I then rested my head on the table and closed my eyes.

I had been leaning down on my table for almost half an hour when I heard the sudden murmur of the people.

"Oh, speaking of," Aishi said and I felt her standing near the side of my cubicle.

"OMG! I guess the news is legit."

"Is he here to visit her?"

"How sweet of him."

Because I was so curious of what I was hearing, I sat properly and my eyes narrowed when I noticed the person approaching a table near where I was.

Of all restaurants, why here?

He sat there at the empty table and Jenna immediately approached to give him the menu list.

"I wanted to talk to the owner," he said to Jenna, enough for me to hear it. And why's that? Why does he want to talk with me? Is the server not enough to approach him?

"Wait Sir, I am going to call Ma'am Reese," Jenna excused herself and approached me but before she could tell it, I told her I heard it. So I stood up and walked on his table.

Yes, it was Axis!
