Chapter 41

Scarlett turned around swiftly. She didn't want Ethan to know that she had been going through his phone. She moved away from the table and acted natural, although she found that a very difficult thing to do.

She couldn't believe what she had just seen, and it was difficult to swallow. She felt embarrassed that her mom would stoop to that same level. Sleeping with Ethan? How could she be so dirty?

Scarlett immediately recalled what happened at the house during the holiday. Could it be that Ethan was the one fucking her mother that night that she was looking for him? That did explain why he was sweating so much and even had the nerve to lie about working out.

She was so pissed at her mother, at Ethan, and at herself for not figuring it out sooner because it seemed to have been going on for a really long time.

Ethan walked up to her and noticed how tense she was looking. He asked if she was okay and she said that nothing was wrong with her.
