Soon we were in front of my door and we bid ourselves good night and I entered. As soon as I entered, I slumped into the bed and gave out a sigh of relief. My legs began to wobble and soon I came crashing to the ground, "Sekani!" he shouted as he quickly came to my side to help me. He tried to touch me but I held up a hand in front of him, "don't touch me" I said without sparing him a glance. Apart from in the movies, I've never heard a gunshot before in my life, the sound of it was terrifying talk more of being at the receiving side of the gun, I can't imagine what it feels like. "Nooooo!!!" I screamed as I woke up tossing the duvet aside.It was my nightmares again; the ever familiar one. It felt so real like it was happening in real life. But what I found strange was that, this one dream keeps repeating itself, night after night, that I've gotten familiar with it, familiar with this one face, even though I'm yet to meet him in person.But does he even exist?? There was no way to know that, he looked like the sort of face you see in the movies or on a billboard or even on a magazine cover page...
OUT OF MY DREAMS (MY MYSTIC KING) CHAPTER 1: NIGHTMARES
Each night, I sleep in expectancy, but no matter how many times I have this dream, I never get use to it, I wake up each night screaming like a lunatic. And it became a norm for my landlady to yell and bang on my door every night.'Bang! bang! bang!' "Sekani! can you turn it down??! holy moly! I'm trying to get some sleep here, you know, I've had it with your nightly disturbance! If you can't contain your madness, then go stay in the mental asylum where you belong! urghh!"Just as I thought.I consider myself unfortunate and unlucky to have gotten a room just next to my landlady's; if only that could be called a proper room, but it was a room at least; a storeroom made of a plywood door and that made poor security.I knew that as long as my nightmares persists, she will continue her embarrassing act, I mean, other neighbors could hear her for Christ's sake! I can only hope for the nightmares to stop, by my hope was beginning to waver because it's been 4 years ever since it began, but

I picked up the socks I had started knitting last night, I needed something to keep busy with till it's time for my bath. I had finished the other pair yesterday, hopefully I would finish this one before daybreak.knitting is a skill I learnt during my years at the orphanage, back there almost everyone could.Luckily, I finished the socks before 5am, just a few minutes before. I picked up my bucket and headed to the public bathroom, we used buckets because the bathroom shower was broken, but there was a tap in it at least. So technically, you fetch your water from the tap and then you know, do your thing the traditional way.After my bath, I prepared for work... I got off the bed and did my morning rituals cheerfully unlike usual, today has proven to be a promising day and remembering that today was my first day at my 'permanent job' added to my joy, I even made extra efforts to dress my best.I had no mirror, but I knew I was good to go, sometimes I make use of my landlady's glass window to consider my appearance, cos it does reflect one's image.As I got out of my room I bumped into my landlady, 'oh no! someone is about to ruin my day!'
