New life

As Alex went unconscious after bleeding out and losing his breath, his life drifted away, now his consciousness was buried deep in his mind as his brain activity slowed down. He didn't feel no sense of peace, only a truckload of regrets. As he sank further to a seemly never-ending abyss, Alex saw the light. "Was this the popular light people saw when they died ?" He thought, his consciousness floated toward the bright purple light and once he got close, the light like a raging tornado sucked him in.

Alex opened his eyes. The confusion in his mind reflected on his facial expression. Alex stood up from the ground and looked around his once not so clean room, which was now in complete disarray and chaos. He looked at his shattered window and his hands went subconsciously towards his neck. " Okay, this is really weird because I could have sworn I was dying" Alex thought as he stared at the glass shards on the floor. "Or was it a dream"

"No, the blood on the floor said otherwise". It was at that point, Alex noticed a figure at the other side of his room.

"What the hell? Am I stuck in some horror movie?" Alex muttered, he picked up a glass shard in his hand, the same freaking object that almost took his life, he walked towards the figure on the floor and cautiously reached out with the glass shard and poked. One second Alex was about to poke the figure on the floor and the next thing he knows. Whatever was lying on the floor had disappeared, startling the hell out of him,

"What hell do you think were doing" a voice rang out behind him.

Alex quickly turned around in shock as he thrust the shard towards the source of the voice.

Standing in all her disheveled glory is Erica, she looked like someone who was thrown in a dishwasher, with her hair scattered and tears on her clothe. But the most apparent details would be the blood flowing from her nose. Alex stared at the girl in front of him, confused on how in seven heavens she got here and why she seemed like someone who just got severely beating.

Even though Alex felt he should be weary of this unknown intruder, he still couldn't help but feel a weird sense of familiarity towards her. He was sure he hasn't met this young and dangerously attractive woman before, upon her disheveled appearance her beauty could not be hidden. As this thought invaded Alex's mind he lowered his guard, I mean, what could an Injured lady do after all?

"Who are you?" Alex inquired.

"It really worked, I have to take you back" Erica said, ignoring the question directed at her.

"Hey! What do you mean, I asked who you were? How the hell did you get to my room?" Alex suddenly felt a sense of weakness and frustration, the girl in front of him paid him little to no attention and just kept muttering to herself.

When Erica woke up she felt as if she had been hit by a high-speed train, her physical state was in shambles, but this was not the worst of her problems yet.

She could feel her soul slowly breaking apart. Even though she wasn't a 200 years old vampire, her soul could already compete with older vampires thanks to her bloodline, but for some reason this vampire ritual she had just performed had almost killed her.

Presently, Erica Valentino questioned her talent, but before all that, the recent matter at hand needs to be solved immediately.

She had broken the rules of the vampire world by turning a human while being below the age bracket and without permission, so she would still answer to the head of the house and possibly the vampire council. But it was better than risking the anger and exploitation of the supernatural council itself, she may not have been the one to set loose the skriller wolf to the human world, but the moment she acted hero and interfered, a rival race would take the opportunity to cause problems for her father.

You may think that killing a skriller would gain her bonus points but no, there is as much politics present in the supernatural world as there are in the human world, if not worse. And of course there is the ever annoying church of the sun God, but that is a story for a different day.

Presently, she had to take Alex to netherndel and register him, while reporting her actions to the bureau in charge of regulating vampire rituals. She was sure her father already knew what she had done, but she would deal with all that when she gets to netherndel, fix her soul, and turn in the skriller's dead body.

Wait! She wasn't sure if the skriller actually died. Erica went towards the shattered window, leaving confused Alex standing there awkwardly with the glass shard at hand.

Erica looked out and spotted the dead skriller lying on the floor with a little wound on the side of its stomach. One would find it hard to believe that such a small injury would cause the death of a creature 8ft (2.44 meters) tall weighing over 700 pounds (0.32 ton), but if wolfs bane is involved with the injury, then it explains its quick death since wolfs bane is basically like poison to all wolves and the dagger itself is enchanted.

"Are you just going to stand there, or explain what the hell is going on" Alex pestered, looking at Erica with a confused expression.

"They're here"

A magic circle appeared on the wooden floor of the room, lighting up in bright orange light that seemed blinding. Alex and even Erica had to use their hands to block the rays of bright light as they squinted.

Right at the spot where the magic circle had appeared, three figures in silver colored armor could be seen, with a peculiar curved sword and helmets that covered their entire face. But the figure at the forefront gave a different vibe and his blood-red eyes could be seen through his helmet, Alex found this spooky over his comrades with orange eyes.

" Go get the skriller's body" the red-eyed figure at the forefront gave a command in deep masculine voice.

Swiftly, one of the sliver armored men disappeared from his position while the other remained behind the red-eyed figure.

"Princess Erica, by the order of count Rufus Valentino, you are hereby summoned by the investigative bureau of the house of Valentino. You and your sired vampire are to come with us immediately. Any form of resistance shall include additional punishment" the silver armored man with orange eyes said in an emotionless voice.

Alex looked at the girl by his side, then towards the red-eyed figure, he cocked his head to the side as if skeptical about something. "Are you guys acting some kind of play or movie in my room?"

"Because, this lady here showed up in my room suddenly, then disappearing and reappearing everywhere, now you guys do the same thing. So, I'm starting to think I've gone crazy, or I'm actually dead, or maybe the film crew are just that damn good. Like, there's a dude here with red eyes, so It's either you are the devil, so then I know am dead, or those are contact lenses" Alex spatted out these words as he calmly waited for an answer.

"Whoosh!" Wind blew at Alex's face, and suddenly, he was face to face with his red eyes. Looking at those eyes up close was terrifying, for it gave a certain type of danger, Alex felt any wrong move would cost him his life.

"Connor! Stand down!" Erica, who had kept silent for a while, spoke up.

"He smells different, in fact. He looks different, like a failed product, he would not last a day in netherndel" the red-eyed figure who seemed to be named Connor chuckled.

"You should explain properly to him what he is, princess, even though you broke all rules, he is still a vampire. But one with the flaws of a human"

" I know my duties, Connor" Erica replied with a stern expression.

" Oh, I'm starting to doubt that princess, we all are" Connor imputed.

Alex just kept staring at the Connor with a frozen expression.

"Men! We leave for netherndel" Connor declared.

The third silver armored figured appeared with the dead skriller on his shoulder. Looking at this dead creature, reality hit Alex, and he suddenly knew that his life was about to change. Connor called him a vampire, and he certainly wasn't dumb to realize what this entailed.

Leaving Alex to his thoughts, a large magic circle light up across the entire floor of the room. The orange light filled everywhere up for about a second. And when it went off. The room was empty and silent, everything that was broken and shattered seemed good as new as if time had rewind.

This particular night would usher a new beginning the supernatural world.
