4 - My Ex-husband Hates Me

CRYSTAL'S POV

I couldn't believe my eyes. Am I really looking at Alexander? He was staring down at me with those same cold eyes he used to look at me the day we got divorced. I realized everyone else were looking at me and I quickly stood up. I was expecting Alexander to talk to me but I was wrong.

He completely ignored me like I didn't exist. His next statement made me feel worse.

"Is this what you let your female employees do at work? Do you only hire prostitutes in this company?" Alexander asked the people around him.

The first man that walked in glared at me, "What is going on here? Can someone explain what nonsense you were doing?"

I wanted to say something but the supervisor quickly pushed me.

"I am so sorry sir. I wasn't doing anything with her. I was trying to leave but she kept stopping me. She was trying to seduce me and I wanted to stop her." My heart stopped when I heard the supervisor lie.

Did he just throw me under the boss when he was the one that started it in the first place? How could he lie against me like this?

"That's not true! He was trying to..."

"I don't think I have time to look at this nonsense. You should know how to teach your employees work manners." Alexander says and stormed out of the department.

Some employees already gathered by this time. The other man looked at the supervisor angrily.

"You better see me now in my office. And you too, I need to see you." He told us and walked away.

I turned to the supervisor but he wasn't even remorseful. He gave me an evil grin.

"This is what you get for being too stubborn. Who do you think will lose the job now? Me or you?" He laughed at me and walked out.

I felt like stabbing the life out of him when I heard him say that. That wasn't what concerned me the most. The fact that I saw Alexander after a few years and all he could do was insult me hurt a lot.

I can't believe he pretended not to know me. I guess I am the only person still stuck in the past. This has given me assurance now that I have nothing to do wigh him anymore. My child is my responsibility alone. Now I am about to lose the only source of income to save his life. I can't believe this evil man would push me to the edge.

I went to the man's office and he was the head of all departments. I was scolded and no one believed me even when I tried to tell them the truth that I didn't do anything. I was blamed for everything.

I almost lost my job but I was given a warning since it's my first time. I don't know why they didn't fire me. When I went back to the department, my employees were shocked to see me still working.

Most of them came to tell me that I was lucky and no one usually gets hired back after this kind of incident. I also found out that this is not the first time the supervisor is doing something like this to the employees. I was just lucky.

The supervisor didn't talk to me throughout the day. Maybe he would leave me alone now. Closing time came and I waited on the roadside to get a taxi.

However, a black van suddenly pulled up in front of me and pulled me in. It all happened in the blink of an eye. My eyes and mouth got covered. I panicked as I didn't know the people that pulled me into the car.

They finally stopped and dragged me out of the car. I tried resisting and someone carried me instead. I was dropped on what seems to be a couch.

"Remove them." I heard a familiar voice say.

I hope this is not what I am thinking at all. They removed the cloth on my mouth and eyes. I opened my eyes, only to find Alexander sitting on the couch in front of me. He had his legs crossed with wine in his hand.

I looked around me and this place is a very expensive, huge house. Why am I here? Why did he bring me here? What does he want from me? I was angry and sad at the same time.

"What's this? What do you want from me? Why would you abduct me?" I asked him, trying not to tremble around him.

Yes, I am still the same idiot that fell for him. Is he trying to make fun of me by bringing me here?

"I just needed to know something. You don't expect me standing on the streets to talk to the likes of you." He replied,which hurt me more.

The likes of me? I am not even worthy to speak to him at all?

"Just who do you think you are? You and I have nothing to talk about so leave me alone!" I fired at him.

"It's humiliating. We had a divorce and you still didn't change? You now go around giving yourself to men." He mocked.

"What?" I stood up, walking towards him with my fists clenched.

"There's always a limit to everything but that doesn't apply to you. You really have no limit, do you?"

I can't believe he would say something like this to me. I couldn't hold back anymore. I landed a slap across his face.

"You are despicable. Why didn't you show this side of yourself to me before coming into my life?! Who do you think you are to tell me what to do with my life?!" I yelled at him.

"Is that why you seduce even your own boss? Are you that desperate to be rich? Don't you have any shame?!" He was finally raising his voice at me.

Why is he getting mad at me? It's bad enough that he thinks I tried to seduce my boss and now he's getting mad at me? I don't think he has any right to do this to me.

"I regret ever falling in love with you! I regret meeting you! You are nothing but a jerk!"

My chest felt tight and my breathing was erratic. I couldn't take the fact that he kept saying harsh words to me. Like he has no right to do this after what he did to me.

Alexander suddenly burst into laughter, confusing her.

"You loved me? Stop with your pretence Crystal. We both know why you were with me in the past."

What is he talking about? Why else would I be with him if I didn't love him? If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have come to this city in the first place.

"You and I have nothing to talk about. Please, stay away from me. You said you didn't want to see me, let's just continue to act like we don't exist to each other." I told him.

He scoffed, narrowing his eyes at me. "You hid well for over three years Crystal. Why didn't you just stay hidden? Why did you come back?"

"What has my coming back got to do with you? It's not like I exist to you! Leave me alone!" I was frustrated.

Seeing him hurt me more than I imagined. It took all all strength in me to keep my cool. He is trying to make me lose it.

"Leave you alone?" He sneered, grabbing my arm so tight that it hurt. "You think I am going to leave you alone after all this time?"

"WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?"

"I have ignored you for over three years. I won't do it anymore. You have called my attention just like you wanted. You should prepare for what you're about to see." He threatened me.

Then he signalled someone, "Take her out of here before I lose it."

He lets go of me and the man pulled me away. They put me back in the van and dropped me on the roadside. I took a cab home unable to rest from what I just experienced. It was straight torture for me and he enjoyed doing it.

I couldn't tell Olivia what I went through and I found it hard to sleep too. I wanted the whole world to just end. But I thought about my baby and Olivia. They are the only people that keeps me going right now.

The next day, I prepared for work as I tried to forget the whole incident yesterday. When I got to the office, I was welcomed by an unexpected visitor.

Alexander and he was sitting on my desk.

"Welcome to work Miss Crystal, I've been waiting all morning for you. YOU CAME LATE."
