Consider it

Lunabella's a P.O.V.

A loud bang from the living room woke me up.

I hurriedly searched for my mom.

As I reached the living room, I saw her lying on the floor.

"Mom!" My eyes roamed her body, thankfully, she doesn't have any bruises or cuts. But everything around her is a mess.

"Darling!" She pulled me and cried on my chest.

"What happened?" I ask as I caress her back.

"Aurelio…killed…" My father?

"What do you mean?"

But she didn't answer me.

"Mom?"

Still, she didn't give me an answer.

Her eyes were like those who were shocked and scared. This is how she usually acts when I ask her about werewolves, but I didn't ask her today.

What caused her to be like this, this early morning?

I hugged her tightly until she calmed down. I laid her on the sofa and started cleaning the room.

What happened to her? Why did she suddenly act like that?

Did I perhaps forget something here that triggered her?

I look around while cleaning, but I see nothing.

Something must have happened that's why she became like that.

Thankfully, today's my day off so I would be able to look after her and observe her as well.

She sleeps until noon, I thought that she'd calm down after sleeping but I'm wrong.

"Mom! Mom!"

She started to run around the house and called for my father.

"Aurelio! Werewolves!"

She scratches my cheeks when I pull her towards me, it was the only time when she calmed down.

"Oh, my darling." She said as she looked at the scratch on my cheeks.

"I'm okay Mom…" I soothe her.

She cried on my chest again, and after a few minutes, she was back to her usual self.

Ha…

I shut my eyes and smile bitterly. Mom loves my father so much…

"The food's ready, let's eat, Mom."

I placed her plate on the table before I pulled her to sit.

"Wow! Wow!" She said happily.

"Thank you for the food!" We said as we started to eat the plain rice and the stew that I made.

Mom would smile at me from time to time. I would do the same and eat.

When we're done eating, Mom suddenly pulls me to her room.

This was the room that she and my father used to occupy. But now, Mom stays in my room.

Everything's dusty, she pulls me to a picture on the wall. It was their picture. Mom was smiling happily as well as Dad. They both look gorgeous in this picture.

I was about to touch it when a book fell on the floor.

I grabbed it. It looks old.

Curiosity got me, so I decided to open the book. My brows met when the name of that school was written on the first page.

But what caught my attention was the letters under that name.

Aurelio Forbes. Academy committee.

That's…That's my father, right?

I flinch when my mom calls my father's name.

"Oh, Aurelio… Werewolf…kill…"

Kill?

"Mom, why are you saying the word 'kill'?" I can't help myself.

But her eyes were stuck on the picture.

I glance at the book again, other than the first page, nothing else was written. I put it back to where it came from and searched for anything I could gather information about, but there was none.

Aside from the picture on the wall and this book, this room's empty.

Mother suddenly went out of the room and stared outside from the veranda.

I went to my room and called Auntie Marga. She's my mother's sister and she's been very kind to us. Let's just hope that there's a signal on my phone right now.

A few rings and she picked up.

"Hello, Auntie?"

"Hi dear! How are you? How's your mother?" Her voice doesn't sound distant from my mother.

"We're okay, but Auntie…can I ask you something?"

"Of course! What is it?"

This is it.

"Uhm, do you know how my father died?"

Auntie Marga became silent. I knew it. They know something but they're keeping it away from me!

"Auntie?" I called her again.

"Lunabella…" I closed my eyes tightly because of the tone she uses, but I'm determined to know.

"Please, Auntie? This is the last time I'll ask, I promise."

She let out a sigh before she answered.

"Well, all we know is your father was killed in the academy…"

W-what?

"What do you mean? Is this academy you're talking about Portia Academy?"

I wanted to know more, but Auntie Marga ended the call after saying sorry.

"Auntie!"

Argh!

There's something in that school that they're not telling me.

Just why are they keeping it away from me? Wouldn't it be best to tell me everything so I would know how to handle my mother when she flies into a rage again?

And I'm his daughter!

"D*mnit!"

Just what on earth happened?

I decided to calm myself down and get a glass of water. But when I got out of the room, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

I spotted Mom, sitting at the table with a fork in her hand, indulging in a chocolate cake.

But there was something odd about the situation. I knew for a fact that I hadn't bought any cake.

"Where did that come from?"

Mom looks at me. Her expression's telling me that she doesn't know everything.

"Mom?" I ask her again, but she looks so lost.

I let out a heavy sigh and got the cake away from her.

"Mom, stop eating that." We're not even sure if that's not poisoned.

I've heard a lot of stories about pranks around here, we can't be too sure that this cake is safe. Especially to a place where we're living.

"No!" Mom screamed as she tried to get the cake back.

"No, Mom, we have a few pieces of bread here, it's safer to eat those than this."

But she's persistent. She grabbed the cake from my hand, and it spilled on the ground.

"Oh no…"

My gosh…

"No, Mom." She was about to get the cake but I stopped her.

I immediately gave her a piece of cheese bread and let her sit on the sofa to call her down.

I felt bad. I surely am bad for doing this. But I don't want my mother to get hurt.

Just who the hell would give my mother a cake?

After cleaning the mess, I went outside to check the gate.

It isn't unlocked. To be precise, it looks the same as how I locked it last night.

Our fences are tall, there's no space in between those fences where people can sneak the cake.

What the heck?

And that cake isn't from here, I'm sure it came from outside this city. Who brought that cake?

As I went inside, my stalker came to my mind.

Is he the one who gave my mother that cake? But why would he do that…

D*mn him. He's not showing himself but he'll give my mom a cake?

Just what do you want? You are a stalker.

I came across my mother, she was holding my father's picture on the veranda.

"Darling…" She whispers.

I hugged her from behind.

"Do you miss Dad, Mom?"

She nodded her head.

I thought we would be able to stay in this situation but she faces me, her eyes stare at me and she says, "Look for darling…"

Her eyes looked sad like she was grieving.

"Mom…" Father's body wasn't found, that's what they told me when I asked them if I can even see my father's grave.

Auntie Marga said that Dad was about to show me around the academy, but then the news came to them that my father was killed.

I was the only one they saw at that time, aside from blood around me, no one was there.

Of course, they did search for Dad, but they couldn't find his body.

"Darling…He's starving…" I hugged my mom.

We're both living desperately, we're both longing, she's longing for her husband, while I'm longing for my father.

"Look for him, look for your dad…" she cries in my arms.

"Do you…do you want me to find out what happened to Dad?" I ask.

Her saddened eyes changed after hearing what I said.

She nodded multiple times.

I hugged her tightly. Contemplating what I just said.

"But Mom," I faced her and said, "I have to leave you if I'll look for Dad." I need to get her answer.

But she hugged me again, she cried as she said, "Look for darling…"

Should I…look for him?
