Moonlight longing

One.

The old pickup truck bounced along the dirt road leading to the small town; Sedona, and Selena tried to calm her racing heart. She had heard that small towns were a great source of inspiration for writers, and she sorely needed some inspiration for her next novel. She was getting tired of the big city and the fast-paced life that came with it.

She was finally here, her new home in the woods. She'd rented a small cabin on the outskirts of town, surrounded by trees and wildlife. It was perfect for her to focus on her writing. As she arranged her belongings in the cabin, Selena's mind wandered, thinking of the possibilities her new surroundings could bring.

As the night fell, Selena couldn't resist the call of the nearby forest. She grabbed her coat and her notebook, eager to explore and seek inspiration for her writing. She wandered deeper and deeper into the woods, her gaze fixed on the trees above her. She was lost in thought, writing down notes, and unaware of the path she took.

The sound of leaves crunching underfoot snapped Selena out of her reverie. She looked up, realizing she'd lost her way. The darkness of the woods surrounded her, and she had no idea which way to go.

Selena took a deep breath and turned around, trying to find her way back. But every path she took seemed to lead her deeper into the woods. That's when she heard something that made her stop in her tracks: a low growl.

Suddenly, the shadows came alive, and a pack of large, aggressive-looking wolves surrounded her. Selena's heart nearly jumped out of her chest as she realized she was in serious trouble. The wolves growled at her, their teeth bared, and she had nowhere to run.

Just when it seemed like all hope was lost, a massive wolf appeared. Selena was shocked as she watched the wolf fiercely fight off the other wolves. After a few minutes, the other wolves retreated and fled into the night.

The wolf that saved her slowly approached her, urging her to yell louder if she needed help. Selena stared at the wolf, still trembling with fear, unsure of what to do next. She watched as the wolf stared back at her, its eyes intense with alpha energy..

The wolf held a gaze with her for a moment, "Stay back!" She mellowed, fixing her eyes on him.

Silence...

Her shudders were the only noise coming through.

After a few tense moments, the wolf suddenly turned and ran off into the woods. Selena was left behind, her heart racing as she realized how close she had come to danger. She made her way back home, replaying the events in her head and wondering what kind of world she had stumbled upon.

Selena stumbled into her home, gasping for air as she slammed the door shut behind her. She leaned against the wall, trying to calm her racing heart. The memory of the savage growls and bared teeth of the werewolves still fresh in her mind.

She began to panic, her thoughts racing as she mumbled conversational statements to herself. "What have I gotten myself into? Why did I move here? I need to leave first thing in the morning," Selena thought to herself.

She gripped the doorknob tightly, contemplating the thought of fleeing. But something made her pause. It was the memory of the mysterious and alluring alpha werewolf. A sense of longing combined with fear gripped her heart, leaving her utterly confused.

Selena shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts while pacing the room. She knew that whatever was going on in the woods was far beyond her understanding. As she tried to process everything, exhaustion took over, and she collapsed onto her bed, wracked with anxiety and uncertainty.

Deep down, she knew that her life would never be the same again after this encounter. The thought of going back to her old mundane existence now seemed unappealing. She thought of the possibilities that could unfold if she stayed and learned more.

But for now, her heart pounding, Selena drifted off to sleep, her dreams haunted by visions of her savior and the Lycan pack.

Selena woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside her window. The warm sun streamed through the window, casting a glow across her bed. As she stretched and rubbed the sleep from her eyes, the memories of the previous night came rushing back to her. The werewolf pack, the danger, and the alpha werewolf who had saved her life.

At first, fear gripped her heart. She remembered the way the wolves had growled at her, the way their eyes glowed in the darkness. But then, a feeling of curiosity began to take over. She had never experienced anything like that before, and part of her wanted to learn more about this secret world of werewolves.

She canceled the thought of running away and decided to explore the town, hoping to find more information about the pack. Selena was determined to unravel the mystery behind her encounter with the supernatural beings.

As she got dressed, Selena could not shake the feeling of exhilaration that came with the knowledge of something unknown, something beyond the mundane. She was eager to delve deeper and discover more about the pack's way of life and their place in the supernatural world.

With her curiosity propelling her forward, Selena stepped out into the small town, ready to uncover the secrets that lay hidden behind the facade of normalcy.

As she walked down the busy street, she noticed a small diner and decided to go in. Sitting at a corner table with her laptop, she noticed a young lady who had been eyeing her. After a few minutes of staring, she summoned the courage to walk over and introduce herself.

"Hey, I'm Ashely, what's your name?" said the girl.

"Hi, I'm Selena," she responded warmly.

For the next few hours, the two ladies discussed everything, from their hobbies to their aspirations. Eventually, their conversation led towards the topic of the supernatural.

"So Selena, have you seen any strange creatures lurking around town?" asked Ashley curiously.

"I actually did stumble upon a pack of wolves in the woods the other night," replied Selena.

Ashley's eyes widened in surprise as she asked, "Wh—where did you see them?"

"In the woods, not too far from my house," responded Selena, puzzled by Ashley's sudden concern.

Ashley appeared to panic at Selena's reply. "You can't go there, Selena. That's their territory, and they won't take kindly to strangers."

Selena was confused by Ashley's reaction and pressed her for further explanation. After a few minutes of hesitation, Ashley opened up about the werewolf rumors that had been circulating in town for years.

"Many people believe that werewolves exist in the woods, but nobody has ever seen them. If you did see them, it's best to avoid them at all costs," said Ashley with a concerned look on her face.

Selena was fascinated by this revelation, wondering if she could use this supernatural knowledge as inspiration for her novel. However, she was also cautious not to put herself in any danger.

"It was like nothing I've ever seen before." Selena explained.

Ashley's shrugged. "Werewolves?" she repeated in a hushed tone.

Selena nodded. "Yes. They were huge and scary, but at the same time, they seemed more human than animal."

Ashley leaned in closer, her curiosity getting the best of her. "What did they do when they saw you?" she asked.

Selena hesitated for a moment before answering. "One of them, the alpha, he seemed to recognize something in me. He was protective, but there was something strange in the way he looked at me. It was like he knew me from somewhere."

Ashley listened intently, hanging on Selena's every word. "I've never seen any werewolves around here," she said finally. "But maybe that's what everybody's been talking about, the strange occurrences in the woods. People have been saying that something's been roaming around at night, but nobody's ever been able to catch a glimpse of it."

Selena's heart raced as she realized that her encounter with the werewolves might not be an isolated incident. "We need to be careful," she said, looking around nervously. "Who knows what other supernatural creatures could be lurking around here?"

Selena couldn't help feeling like her new friend Ashley was hiding something. Every time she brought up the topic of the werewolves in the woods, Ashley seemed to clam up and change the subject. Selena's suspicions were mounting, and she was determined to find out what Ashley was hiding.

One day, as Selena sat in a diner, staring out the see-through window, she noticed a man walking down the street. He was tall and lean, with chiseled features and piercing blue eyes that seemed to look straight through her. His dark hair was swept back, giving him a rugged look that made Selena's heart race.

She couldn't take her eyes off him as he walked into the diner and took a seat at the counter. She felt drawn to him, as if there was something about him that she couldn't resist. As he turned meeting her gaze sending her a hard glare, Selena's heart skipped a beat.

This man is the exact definition of perfection.

Selena couldn't help but drool at the sight of Ethan. With his perfectly chiseled jawline, toned body, and piercing gaze, he was the epitome of male perfection. However, before she could even gather the courage to approach him, he walked up to her in a rude way and spoke to her as if she was beneath him.

"Excuse me, can I help you with something?" Ethan asked, with a hint of arrogance in his voice.

Selena stuttered, trying to form a coherent sentence, but she was too taken aback by his sudden appearance. He noticed her hesitation and walked away, leaving Selena feeling embarrassed and dejected.

Ashley ran up to Selena, watching Ethan as he strutted away. "That is Ethan Moore. He's the most dangerous, closed off, arrogant and dashing man in town," Ashley warned.

Selena couldn't help but feel drawn to him, despite his rude demeanor. She wondered what secrets he was hiding and what made him so closed off. The more she thought about him, the more she was determined to find out more about him, even if it meant putting herself in danger.

She couldn't help but feel a strong aura of arrogance emanating from him. He walked out with a swagger, as if he owned the place. His shoulders were squared, his back straight, and his gaze was fixed firmly forward, as if he was daring anyone to challenge him.

She watched till he was out of sight, huffing out a sigh.

Selena bade Ashley goodbye and left for her crib, unable to shake off the feeling of Ethan's rude behavior towards her at the diner. As she walked home, her thoughts went haywire, trying to rationalize why he would be so cold and dismissive towards her. Did she do something wrong? Was he just playing hard to get? As much as she tried to brush it off, she couldn't deny the attraction she felt towards him. She knew he was dangerous, closed off, and arrogant, but there was something about him that she just couldn't resist.

Selena had already fallen under Ethan's spell. Though she didn't know it yet, he would become both the greatest love and the most dangerous threat in her life. And with that realization, Selena's heart raced faster than ever before.

As Selena walked down the street, lost in thought about Ethan, she suddenly came across yet another handsome and dashing guy. This time, it was a guy named Xander, who seemed to have an air of mystery and charm about him.

Selena couldn't help but think that this town was packed with attractive men. She had only been here for a few days, but she had already come across a few good-looking guys.

As Xander approached her, he introduced himself and flirted around with her, causing Selena's heart to skip a beat. "Hey there, gorgeous. My name is Xander. What's yours?" he said, flashing her a smile that could melt ice.

Selena blushed at his flirtatious demeanor and introduced herself. They struck up a conversation and before she knew it, Selena was laughing and enjoying herself.

As they talked, Selena couldn't help but feel a strange connection with Xander, as if she had known him her whole life.
