Chapter 16: Dinner

Charlotte Hayes’ POV

Damien leaned in closer for a kiss on the lips. "Hmph," I said, pushing him away, astounded because he appears to be getting used to kissing me. His eyes were like those of a whining puppy. "Are you all right?" He strokes my cheek. I responded by holding his hands and nodding. Damien turned around to face Jake with a rage on his face. Jake, on the other hand, maintains his arrogant demeanor.

Damien held my hand as he said, "Hurt her again, and I'll directly transport you to the afterlife." Jake exclaimed, leaving Damien and I alone in the tent. "Let's go to the hospital," he said softly. I shook my head, "there's no need. I can handle it. More importantly, there's the director thing. You did plan that, didn't you?" Damien kissed my cheek and asked, "Does it make a difference?" I moaned, wrapping my arms around his neck. He never took his gaze away from mine.
