CHAPTER 4 SPEND THE NIGHT IN RETURN OF MONEY

Aiva's POV

I stopped in front of the office after contemplating the whole time. Should I just go in and ask or not? I am way too embarrassed to see him. He wasn't even ashamed of what he did.

"I think I should just avoid him for now." I said and ran back to my post.

I am the only one getting affected by this whole thing. He doesn't seem affected because he's less concerned about others. He has no shame to simply put it.

"I thought you wanted to see me." That familiar voice asked behind me.

I turned to see my boss behind me, I actually flinched on seeing him already behind me.

"W-what... what are you talking about?" I managed to ask out of shock.

He patted my shoulder, "Come on, there's nothing to be afraid of. You can talk to me."

I immediately changed my mind of asking him for an advance. Maybe I'll have to look for another way to get money because I am doomed at this point.

"I don't think I have anything to say... I am sorry for coming into your office without asking yesterday." I wanted to tell him that I heard him calling my name but that would sound ridiculous so I just shut up.

"That's why I asked you to join yesterday. Why didn't you just take the offer?"

"I decline." I said quickly.

He chuckled, "Okay... then we'll talk later when you are ready."

His smile is as beautiful as his face but not his heart. I know he has a heart of stone and feels no remorse whatsoever.

"I have a lot to do today! I'll take my leave now!" I scurried away before he could say anything else.

I breathe in relief as soon as I moved away from him. Mu body felt hot as if I was put in fire. Maybe it's due to how uncomfortable I feel right?

I thought I would be able to get him and that scene out if my head while I was working. I was so wrong. I kept getting flashbacks of yesterday. It's so awkward.

The worse thing is that I keep imagining what it would be like if that was me. Why am I doing this right now?

"Aiva... are you listening to me at all?" Dock's voice brought me back from my thoughts.

I immediately turned to him with a flustered smile, "I think I am."

He always manages to come whenever I'm trying to think of something.

"You don't look so good though. Are you sure? Your entire face is red."

"No it's not. You're always noticing unimportant things."

"But your face is really red right now. Are you perhaps blushing?"

I felt so embarrassed when he said I blushed. How can I blush when I'm thinking about our shameless boss?

"I'm not blushing." I quickly denied it and turned my back on him.

"Are you okay though? I saw what happened on the internet." His words made me stop again.

I know he's referring to me getting rejected by my mate. Well, I've already rejected him too. It's not like their pity will do anything to help me.

I turned to him with a smile, "I wouldn't come to work if I wasn't fine. You all don't expect me to dwell in the past, do you?"

He smiled, "I knew it. You're good to go."

He gave me a thumbs up before leaving. I faced my work again while trying to get that sorrow out of my heart. My long time relationship ended like that in the blink of an eye. Of course I wouldn't be completely fine yet.

Lucas you fucking bastard. I hope your fucking dick gets shorter and never rise up. I hope your eggs get crushed and your face is dunked in poop!

"Is there a reason why you're taking out your anger on my bike?"

The familiar voice brings me back to my senses again and I realized that I was almost scratching the bike with my anger. I turned to see Leo standing around me again.

I gulped nervously as I know he won't leave me alone for the entire day since he knows I'm too embarrassed to face him. Why doesn't he have any shame?

"I... I wasn't... I'm sorry." I apologize since I have no way to justify my actions.

"You can take the day off if you're not in the position to work."

I imagined that he must have seen my humiliation too for him to act this way with me.

"I decline. I'm going to work for my pay."

He nodded, "I expected you to be stubborn. Just how I like it."

What the hell? I think he's a psycho.

"What can I do for you?" I managed to say without cracking my voice.

"You have such beautiful eyes Aiva." He complimented, his eyes completely dark and staring into my soul.

I shook my head, "Please don't. If you don't need anything, I'll go back to working now."

I turned my back on him and continued working like he didn't exist. Instead of going away, he stayed around watching me that it made me so uncomfortable.

"It's always the hot and handsome ones." I mumbled while I continued to work.

His looks do not match his personality at all. He is completely crazy. I wish they'd see that. But he's a pack leader and a powerful psycho, what could anyone do to him?

Dock walked over to me, pretending to be showing me something about work while his eyes were still fixed on Leo. I didn't need to look back to know he was the one there.

"Aiva... is there a reason why the boss is staring at you like that? Do you need help? Blink twice if you do." Dock whispered to me.

I sighed, "I have no idea what he wants from me."

He shook his head, "I guess you've been marked. Good luck getting on his good side."

He immediately scurried away while I slightly turned to look at Leo behind me. I didn't see him there anymore, I turned better to check for him but I didn't see him.

I sighed in relief happy that he was gone. When I turned around to face front, I was welcomed by his beautiful dark eyes which scared the hell out of me.

"Looking for me?" His voice was as chilly as a horror movie.

I almost screamed and fell backwards. He stopped me from screaming and falling backwards at the same time. His hand gripped my waist tight, covered my mouth and our eyes locked in an intense gaze.

I can't believe my eyes are going somewhere other than his eyes right now. The more I looked at him, the more I recalled seeing him with that she–wolf. I suddenly saw myself in that position. It felt like I was cursed by his eyes.

"Did I just scare you?" His voice brought me back to reality and I realized I was an idiot.

I quickly got away from his grip, "No."

"Come on, I saw you looking for me and you suddenly flinched when you saw me."

"No I didn't. I just wasn't expecting that. Can you please just leave me alone?" I finally voiced out.

He smirked, "Didn't you want to talk to me about something yesterday? Isn't that why you barged into my office?"

I was flustered that he still won't let me forget yesterday. But I kept my cool so I wouldn't end up embarrassing myself.

"I was going to tell you something but... I think I forgot what it is. I'm sorry."

"You just lied, didn't you?"

What? How did he know I was lying.

"You can't just assume something like that when you don't know me deep inside." I replied him.

He shrugged, "What makes you think I don't know you deep inside? Do you think I can't read you?"

I cleared my throat, "I'm sorry for causing trouble yesterday. It won't happen again. I saw nothing..."

I was basically tremble while trying to sound cool. But maybe he can see through me because he seems to be enjoying the whole act.

"Just tell me, what did you want to say? Who knows? I might do it for you right away."

But the face that he knows it's because I need something and not for work is so embarrassing.

"I'm sorry.... I just... I wanted to..." I fidgetted my fingers as I tried to find the right words to say to him.

"I wanted to ask for an...."

"Advance?" He completed it for me to my surprise. He knows?

"Well... yes. That's what I wanted to say yesterday. I wasn't trying to spy on you or anything." I innocently confessed.

He nodded, "I know. That's why I'm going to make a proposal for you."

"What?"

"Spend the night with me and I'll give you all the money you want." He blurted out.

"What?"
