5. Wedding Preparation

Logan wanted to ask more questions, but he decided not to. Despite his anger, he refused to give Myrene the impression that she completely controlled him. There was no way he would allow her to feel that.

Logan would rather starve to death than accept Myrene's offer. Especially since he couldn't watch people die so horribly in front of his eyes. He wondered how she could ignore this creature's suffering.

All that was left of the human were bones and some parts that looked very disgusting even to him, who was used to eating raw meat.

"You won't get anything until dinner. So eat up," Myrene still warned kindly.

Logan didn't move or look at her. He didn't want to eat at all right now. Instead of being hungry, he felt nauseated.

A little smile spread across Myrene's face when she saw the man's reaction. She finished her breakfast, feeling that being nice to Logan was pointless. She told the servants to clear the table. It was impossible to ignore the splash of fresh blood. The servants cleaned up quickly and thoroughly.

"Give me some clothes!" Logan snapped after all the servants had left, leaving the two of them in the room.

Myrene looked at Logan intently. Logan was prepared to hear condescension or rejection, but she remained silent for a few moments. It made him feel even more humiliated. He couldn't look away or do anything. Covering his body with his hands would look even more humiliating.

"Don't worry, Hunter will bring you some clothes. Tonight you must prepare for our wedding." Myrene got up from the sofa and moved closer to Logan, putting him on alert.

But Logan was silent, deep in thought, unable to believe that Myrene meant what she said. Married? How could he marry a woman who already had several husbands? Was she crazy?

And again tonight? That's too soon!

Logan looked up at Myrene, who was standing right in front of him. Refusal was certainly not an option. He had already done it in the throne room and he remembered exactly what had happened. He also remembered what she had done to him afterwards.

How could he be so stupid? The werewolves' lives were in his hands. Besides, he was no match for Myrene's strength. It was embarrassing, but it was true. He had to face it, whether he liked it or not.

Logan slapped Myrene's hand away from his face. "Don't touch me!" he said quietly. His eyes still burned with hate.

Myrene smiled, making Logan even more angry. That smile made Logan sick.

Myrene stood up and put her arms around him. "It's hard to admit defeat, but learn to look at the situation and realize your position. As my consort, you must serve me completely."

Logan chuckled a little at the woman's words. Myrene blinked.

"I have never met a woman as shameless as you. You think defeating me is the same as earning my approval?" Logan scoffed.

Myrene was about to touch Logan's cheek, but the man quickly pushed away, but this time Myrene deftly caught Logan's strong hand and held it tight.

"I don't need your approval, Alpha Logan. I only need you to submit to me. You will learn not to disappoint me, or you know what will happen," Myrene replied calmly.

Logan tried to pull his hand away, but Myrene's strength made it difficult. He pulled with all his strength, but she didn't move. When Myrene released her hand, he had pulled too hard, sending him crashing to the ground.

"Shit!" Logan cursed angrily. He felt his hand ache, a red mark visible on his wrist.

"One more thing, just for you, you have to take off your clothes as soon as I come to your room," Myrene continued.

Logan cursed again, cursing under his breath. "Seriously?!"

Myrene looked at Logan with interest. The man challenged her. For years she had wanted him by her side, and now that the time had come, she still couldn't control him. Besides, she knew that Logan was kneeling before her for his people, which impressed her even more. Of course, she wanted him to fall in love with her even more.

"I promise to respect you as my consort. I will not humiliate you outside as long as you do not make me angry. Then you must serve me in your chamber. So just do as I say." Myrene smiled softly before straightening her clothes. Then she stepped out.

Logan stared in despair, but he was helpless. Whatever he wanted to do to her was only in his mind. She was too strong and cunning. How could he defeat her? Was there any way?

***

In the dungeon, the morning was filled with chaos. The prison cells, filled with werewolves from the Nightshade pack, rumbled with urgency from within. Shouts of rage filled the spacious room, making the other wards alert and curious as to what was going on.

"She has to come with us!" One of the Lycans, dressed in black like a bodyguard, shouted amidst the commotion.

"You didn't give us a doctor, and now you want her to come with you! Do you think we fools are going to hand Ivana over to you?" One woman retorted while angry shouts erupted all around.

They argued for a long time. The Lycan guards tried to take Ivana away and separate her from the group, but they were unsuccessful as the werewolves protected the girl.

"You're going to let her die here!" the bodyguard said again.

"You're going to kill her, and we know it! If you want to help her, give us a doctor here!"

The Lycan guards were annoyed that the werewolves were so determined. Several bodyguards came, and they couldn't do anything either unless they wanted to make a scene. If there was a riot, there would certainly be casualties.

At that moment, a red-robed man with expensive clothes and palace emblems indicating high rank entered the dungeon. His arrival alerted the guards, who quickly formed a line and bowed respectfully.

"Master Lucas, what brought you here?" one of the guards asked.

They knew Lucas, Myrene's uncle, was always there in times of need. But for now, his arrival came as quite a surprise. It was unusual for Lucas to come to the dungeon unless it was for very important business.

Lucas, the forty-three-year-old man, looked very calm. His beard adorned his handsome face, and his flat expression made him look cold. His eyes were always pierced.

"Anyone named Ivana, come with me. Or I will have to kill you all," he said calmly and deeply.

The werewolves, who had been a little quiet, became loud again. They seemed completely undaunted. For them, they were already dead when Logan surrendered. So why should they survive?

But during the commotion, a girl was seen trying to reach the bars of the prison. Several women helped her.

"You all, please calm down!" said the girl, who was none other than Ivana. Her left hand was broken and there was a bandage at the base of her arm. Her face was deathly pale, her lips dry. But her eyes were full of hope.

The girl's words made the werewolves even louder. But again Ivana asked them to calm down.

"They won't kill me. We're members of the Nightshade pack. Don't let a little thing like this scare us off. I will be back soon," Ivana said. She quickly convinced the werewolves to let her go. Who knew what the Lycans would do to her, but she was sure she would survive. More important now was that the werewolves were safe.

It was so difficult to get Ivana out of the prison, but as soon as the girl came out, one of the Lycans immediately put her body on his shoulders. They rushed out of the prison, causing the werewolves to scream in alarm.

"Take her to my room!" Lucas ordered.
