No Way To Say Sorry

Aunty Pam appears at my door that morning, a nylon in her hold and apart from the formal greeting, she refuses to say a word or even tell me why she's here.

"Come in. " I say, making space for her already. Thankfully, I sent Damien away earlier, but not without blowing his nose. Found out the bastard had actually approached me with the intention to steal the ring. The bastard could've even killed me for it if he was harmed. I close the door after her and turn to her. She steps closer and sighs, "Are you still angry?" She asks reluctantly and I raise my brows at that.

"I'm not angry, aunty Pam." At least, not anymore. She simply said what she thought and it did a good deal to better my messed up mood than the mediation exercise could've. A smile immediately finds its way to her lips and she stretches out the nylon to me, "Happy anniversary, Cain Hudson. "
