Chapter 2

*Trisha's POV*

I chuckled.

“Life has refused to go the way I want and happiness is far from me. I just wanted to drown away my sorrow, that's all.” He chuckled.

“Same here. I've been betrayed by the people I call family and they've really shown me the monster in them.” I snickered and downed another bottle.

“Yours is better. My wife left me alone in this world. She should have taken me with her but she died and left me here,” He narrated and I felt bad for him. “I loved her so much.” He sniffled and I patted his back, forgetting about my own sorrow.

Mine might be betrayal but his was the death of someone he loved dearly. I remembered how I felt when Father passed on and tears rolled down my cheeks.

“Carlota, where are you?” He questioned in tears and downed another bottle of beer.

He was about to go for the sixth one but I stopped him. “Hey, pull yourself together. I know you're in pain but drinking this much won't do you good,” I advised him even though I had planned on doing the same thing I was stopping him from a while ago. He burst into tears and I tried to comfort him.

He rested his head on my shoulder and soon he was asleep.

“Trisha!”

I turned to see Madam Tasha walking to where I was seated.

“Boss lady,” I bowed slowly.

She sighed and massaged her forehead. “What are you doing with the Alpha?” She asked and I gasped.

That was when my eyes opened and I realized that I was with Alpha Oscar. He just got crowned Alpha a few weeks ago and this happened? I tried to push him away but he wouldn't budge.

“I'm sorry, I had no idea. I was only—”

“No, don't explain,” She cut me off and exhaled. “You have to take him back home, Eve.” She said and I blinked.

“Me? Why me?” I asked.

“Can't you see he doesn't want to leave you alone? Do you want people to see him this way? If his reputation gets ruined because of this, this club will suffer for it and I am not ready to lose this place yet, so do what I say without complaints.” She snapped and walked away, leaving me with nothing else to say.

I looked around to see if he came with any guards but it seemed he was alone. I got up and held him, leading him outside the club.

“Where's your car key?” I asked but he mumbled inaudible words. I groaned and reached into his pocket where I got his car keys. I helped him into the car and sat down in the driver's seat.

I turned on the ignition and drove off. We were at the mansion in no time. I got down and called the maids to help me bring him out, which they did.

“Take him to his room. He'll be fine in the morning,” I told them and turned to leave but someone held my hand. I turned and saw that it was the Alpha.

“Please, don't go,” He pleaded.

I shut my eyes tightly.

“Please, he doesn't want to leave with us. Maybe you could take him to his room and leave when he's asleep.” A maid told me.

Left with no choice, I nodded and they led me to his room. When we were in, they bowed and left while I helped him lie on the bed. I took in his features and realized that he was drop dead gorgeous like the girls usually called him.

I've seen him before but not up close like this. When his breathing became even, I stood up to leave but a hand grabbed me and pulled me to the bed. Before I knew it, I was staring at him. He held my jaw up and looked into my eyes, his blue orbs boring into mine.

“Carlota,” He called and I gasped.

“I'm not Carlota, Alpha Oscar. I'm not your wife,” I tried to protest but he slammed his lips on mine, shutting me up. My eyes widened and my senses tingled.

I pushed him away.

“You're mistaken, Alpha. I'm not—” I couldn't finish as his lips landed on mine again. His hands went down to caress my thighs and I felt my body reacting to his touch.

No, this isn't right. He is drunk and doesn't know what he's doing. He thinks I'm his wife but I'm not. I can't do this, no!

I tried but he was too strong for me and kept calling me Carlota. When I couldn't control myself anymore, I gave in to the desires that ate me whole. I gave my body to him, ignoring the warning signals in my head.

Little did I know that, it was better to have listened to those sounding alarms.
