Maddie P.O.V.The insult lies in the air, making the tension so thick you can cut it with a knife. Mother Bianca’s deep brown eyes seem contemplative, while she thinks about what I just said. She keeps her composure, and I admire her while the room is quiet enough for me to really take this woman in. She is very regal, her dusted pink outfit accenting her brown colored skin, her braided black hair held back with a see through head scarf. I keep myself ready for a retribution from Eileen, as I feel she is as unstable as she is stupid. Her brown eyes, so like her mothers, although her skin tone is slightly lighter than her mother’s, are trained on me. I don’t think she really believed what she just heard, and it is obvious she never thought I would taddle on her. I turn my attention to Lilliana for a second. We are supposed to believe she is sisters with Eileen? Sure she has deep brown eyes, which threw Liam for a loop because he could have sworn they were orange, which we found out wa
Liam P.O.V.I was going to bring Maddie to my office, but I was so fucking turned on by her, that I decided against it and brought her to our room instead. I fucked her until she passed out from exhaustion and pleasure. I cuddled with her for a while, before I got up, got dressed and went to my office. Then I got on the phone to call our allies. I know we need all the help we can get, but I didn’t call them before speaking to Elder Mills. We need the Elders to be on our side in this. They agree it’s getting out of hand with Iron Mountain, and they have investigated the pack themselves. Although this intrigued me a lot, I did not further investigate the reason as to why they were keeping a close eye on Rick. I didn’t care for one thing, and it just made it easier for me to plead our case for another, so that was that. Then I called the packs I have always been on good terms with, and some of this I know hates either Iron Mountain as a whole or Rick and Jessica as individuals. Knock
Maddison P.O.V. “But she is old, Liam. She’ll die or get seriously injured. I cannot let that happen. I am her Luna! If I say no, then that’s what she has to respect.” We have been discussing this since last night. Liam seems hellbend on letting Azlela come with him to fight at Iron Mountain, but I can’t let her go and get herself killed. “Baby, please stop stressing.” Liam says to me, putting his hand on my stomach. I sigh. The tears are close to falling again as I can’t seem to shut off the waterworks this morning.“But she can get killed.” I whimper, pouting and looking at him with wide eyes. Liam pecks my pouty lips, but he doesn’t budge. “She is a grown woman, and she’ll give us the upper hand, baby. We need her. Besides; she is highly aware of the possibility of her not surviving this battle. She has made her mind and we need to respect that as her leaders.” We reach the end of the stairs, but I am still not ready to let this matter go, however Liam has other plans. He turns
Liam P.O.V. We made the calls, and Maddie was right, once again. Our allies were more than willing to come to our aid. They made haste, and most of them were here before evening. We made sure to accommodate them as best as we could. The kitchen was alerted to the many guests we would have, and they made sure to have enough food and drinks prepared and stocked so we could load up before the evening's battle. Azlela’s vision gave us time to prepare, and I was grateful to her.Maddie immediately installed the wiccan friends in some of the townhomes which had safe rooms attached to them, so their children could hide away. One or two adults promised to stay with them, and that mostly consisted of a few women who were visibly caring a new life in their stomach. I instructed my border guards about the flow of people who would be arriving, and which pack they were from. Mother Bianca even reached out to some of her wiccan friends and explained the situation. Most of them were really surpris
Maddison P.O.V.Liam pushes me behind him as Eileen and Rick lungs towards us. He shifts into Ash, defending me as well as he can, but Rick also shifts into his wolf and they are fighting each other with deadly precision. Eileen has her eyes set on me, and they are shooting lightning, as she is screaming profanities. “You get paid for what you did in the mall and when I was here with my mother you bitch!” She says. I cannot shift into Ember without putting my pup in danger, but no one has said anything about using magic. I send a quick mindlink to our doctor, who assures me I can still fight with magic, but I cannot shift or engage in combat otherwise. “I like to see you try.” I taunt her. I need her focused on me, so she won’t try and attack Liam or someone else close to me. “Don’t worry, your little wolf man will get the same treatment as you as soon as I am finished with you.” Eileen threatens, and I growl at her. No one threatens my family and gets aways with it. I send her fly
Maddison P.O.V. I was 10 when my pack threw me out like yesterday's leftovers. The Alpha - Richard, usually was a strict but fair leader, but when it came to his Luna, he went overboard with all kinds of crazy. She fell ill, and even the magic in our doctors couldn’t help her. They couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her, and eventually she died from it and the pack mourned her deeply - or so I heard. By the time Luna Jennifer died, I was long gone and not looking back. The funny thing? I never got the stench or mark of a rogue. It was like I was a regular wolf, but without the pack. Sitting in front of my cave, I think back to the time where my life took one hell of a turn, knowing I dodged a bullet by being thrown out. All my life up to that point, my parents and the Alpha and Luna had it all planned out for me. I was going to marry the Alpha’s son Rick and become the Luna of the pack. But I also needed to keep covering for Jessica, the Alpha’s daughter. She was born without
Maddison P.O.V. I can’t believe I already turned 19. The years have gone by so fast on one hand, and on the other it still feels like yesterday when I wandered through the rough terrain in the pitch black of the night. I’ve been dreading meeting my mate ever since I shifted on the night of my 18th birthday, but so far I’ve been lucky and not met anyone. I hope it stays that way because I will not make good mate material. Not with my past, and with my personality. The morning is foggy, but I know as soon as the sun comes up it’ll burn the fog away with its warm rays. I walk down to the little lake, just down from my cave, to wash myself. I’ve made a small morning fire, and put the kettle over to make a cup of tea. I put the stones there as well for my dough, so I can have some freshly baked bread with honey and cheese. It’s my favorite in these semi cold fall mornings. The day is warm enough, but at night I need to have one of my heating stones active to keep warm. Even with all my
Liam P.O.V. “Happy birthday to you… Make a wish, ladybug.” I hug my little sister tight, kissing her head. She smiles happily at me, looking down at the box in my hand. “What is that?” She asks, getting all giddy, I laugh at her antics, handing her the box. She opens it, squealing in delight. I gave her the book series she really wanted, and I promised to take her to the book cafe in town later today. I have never been there myself, as I am not as much into books as Clara, but today is all about her and I will do absolutely anything to make her happy. “This is just what I wanted.” She says sitting down with her books looking them over. “I thought I heard you speak about those.” I tease. She has been talking about nothing else for months. The series only came out a couple of days ago, and we all asked her to not buy them because of her birthday. “Okay, this is from me and dad, honey.” Mom says, handing Clara an envelope. She puts the book she’s looking at down, taking the envel
