I was seething inside. My heart was burning with rage. How dare him? Who does he think he is to snatch my phone away? I had been pacing around the room with my heart aflame with anger, thinking of what to do to get back at Dante. The audacity of him to play with me that way. Another part of me feared him reading through my texts with Gina. He’d surely get suspicious. I need to get my phone back as soon as possible. I walked up to my wardrobe and pulled out my other phone.

I have Gina’s and Gabe’s numbers saved on it. I dialed Gabe’s first. I bit my bottom lip, impatiently waiting for him to pick up. “Hello, Ma’am.”

“Gabe, did you get to find out the hospital information?” I asked, turning my face at the door.

Silence followed. “Gabe, I asked you a question.” He’d be the last person to get on my nerves completely.

“I’m sorry, ma’am. I’m still working on it. You will hear from me real soon.”

“Do that fast. I have no time to waste on Dante. If he’s involved, we take the next step.”
