She nodded which made him proceed “You have till the day after tomorrow to save your mother or else she would be dead by the disease”

Eleanor's eyes widened in shock “What?”

Beads of sweats formed on her face and poured down freely and profusely, her heart beat thrice than normal as she heard what the doctor said.

 “I can't afford to loose my mother, I can't afford to loose my mother” She repeated several times murmuring. 

“So, what can be done doctor? What can be done to save my mother? I can't afford to loose her in any way” Save said while staring daggers at the doctor who in turn looked at her with eyes full of pity.

“The only way is for your family to provide the billion dollars to save her so we can begin the operation immediately”. Do you have it at hand now, so we can begin the operation?”

Without thinking further, she nodded her head negatively and burst into uncontrollable tears, why was her life turning into a shipwreck? She can't afford to loose her mother at her tender age, and what about her sisters? Who would take care of them? She was too young to take care if children.

The doctor began consoling her “Don't worry, you'll find the money soon. I know it's not easy to lose one's mother”

Eleanor nodded gratefully as she was about to leave the doctor's office “Thank you!! I'll find a way to find the required amount of money. If you'll excuse me, I'll go check on my mother”

The doctor nodded in affirmation and sighed watching her leave.

Later, she arrived at room 49E, where her mother was. She opened it and a pale figure on the bed could be clearly seen.

She felt a pang in her heart immediately sighting her mother. Her once agile, smart. beautiful mother was now a frail, pale and sick one all thanks to the disease.

Tears steamed down from her eyes pitifully while staring at her mother in pains.

Her mother coughed as she wanted to mention her name. She quickly rushed to where her mother was and gave her a cup of water on a nearby table.

She sat down examining her mother after she drank her water. No amount of words could describe how hurt she felt.

“Mother” She began slowly as her mother gently opened her eyes due to her call “I was just coming from the doctor's office”

“Oh yeah, what did-” She coughed slightly and continued “What did he said?”

Eleanor looked straight in her eyes, she couldn't just get herself to tell her mother what the doctor said, how could she tell her mother that she would be dead in the next two days in failure to bring the required amount of money.

“Eleanor!!” Her mother said faintly jolting her out of her thoughts.

She stammered “He sa-said that failure to bri-bring the money in the ne-next two days, you would be de-dead” She tried looking at her mother's face for her emotions.

Though Her mother was shocked, but she was not too shocked, she already expected this anyway. She already knew she would die at last. But she didn't wanted to die a painful death, she was already in pains.

Her mother looked around slowly “Where is your father?” 

Eleanor sighed “I don't know, I didn't see him at home”

She was alarmed “Well did you try calling him?” She asked her daughter and her daughter shook her head negatively.

Eleanor quickly shoved that apart and stared at the food she bought “Oh, I forgot. I brought you peanut butter and jelly. Your third favorite food”

Her mother smiled palely, she was so glad that she had great children, at least she would be with them for some time before leaving for the after life.

Her mother grabbed the food and took out the sandwich and took a little bite before remembering something “Oh, my bad, How are my two favorite little angels, Ellie and Elsa?”

Eleanor frowned her face playfully “So, I am no more your favorite any longer?”

Her mother laughed out loud “No, no, ii didn't say that darling, you all are my favorite”

Eleanor smiled broadly at her mother. She Just loves her mother so much she can't afford to lose.

The thought of losing her mother mad her face sour and sad and her mother immediately noticed “What's wrong Eleanor? Is it about the favorite child? Because I already told you, that you all are my favorite”

Eleanor shook her head twice negatively “I'm afraid of losing you”

Her mother was dumbfounded and couldn't say a thing, what could she say? She also didn't wanted to die to spend time with her lovely children, but money denied them.

Before she could think of anything else, Eleanor hugged her tightly “I promise not to loose you Mother. I will do everything in my power to avoid that, I promise”

A smile crept up her mother's lips with her daughter's promise. She knew her daughter as someone who always fulfils her promise, but the question was, where will she find a billion dollars that easily?

She held her daughter's chin upright which made her face look straight to hers “But Eleanor, where would you see such an amount of money. It is a pretty huge amount for someone in bankruptcy like us.”

Eleanor looked up at her mother while smiling, she got some tricks up her sleeve. She can't just watch her mother life slowly sipping away in front of her.

“Don't worry Mother. your daughter knows what to do”

Her mother shook her head and smiled at her daughter, she then took another bite from the sandwich slowly.

As she began eating slowly, a knock was heard on the door. Soon enough, the figure entered and it was the doctor!!

He looked towards Eleanor and smiled and it exposed his cute dimples which made her heart beat skip.

He walked towards her mother, took up her hand and examined it professionally. He then open eyes eyes and examined also, then at last, he took up his stethoscope to examine her heart then he faced her mother.

“Mrs. Roseville, your body is in perfect shape, after the operation, I am hundred percent sure you will be up and running”

Her mother smiled “Okay, thank you doctor for you help”

“It's nothing. What are we doctors for? To help the patients of course” He said while smiling in return then he left.

Eleanor stood up intending to leave, she looked at her mother like she won't see her again, who knows, this may be the last time she may see her mother.

“It's high time I leave, I have some work to do at home, and I need to pick Ellie and Elsa from school”

She waved goodbye at her mother as her left the hospital. 

She boarded a taxi going to her sister's school. Not quite long, she arrived there, she stared at the little children playing, some were chatting with thier other friends. She tried searching for her sister's Ellie and Elsa.

Immediately, she saw them skipping towards her happily. She held up her hands as they both jumped on it.

“Eleanor, Eleanor” They said repeatedly as they wiggled their selves in her hands.

She giggled and pinched their little cheek playfully which made them pinch hers in return.

“How was school, my little angels?” She asked them still pinching their chubby cheeks.

Elsa who had brunette hair with brown eyes giggled happily “It was so fun Eleanor, we learnt how to spell some words”

“Really? That would have been so much fun girls? And what did you learn Ellie” She said noticing Ellie Frowning her face.

“About time you asked me, I learnt the importance of energy. It was all so fun and we really enjoyed it” Ellie who hard blonde hair and chubby cheeks answered

Eleanor loved talking to her sister's die to their smartness, they talked smarter than girl's of four years old.

She happily hugged them tightly while walking over to the taxi. 

Ellie looked up at her curiously “When will we go visit mother?”

Eleanor smiled as she tugged her more tightly to herself “Surprisingly, I was just coming from the hospital”

The two girl's face turned sour at thier sister's statement. They felt sad they didn't get to meet the person they were anticipating to see all day.

“But we want to see mother. We miss her so much” They both said together.

Eleanor felt a string of pain in her heart at what they just said, “who wouldn't miss their mother?” She said internally.

“Mother said I should say hi to you” As she said that, they both burst into tears requesting to see their mother.

“But we want to see mom” They cries and yelled on Eleanor's cloth which in return made it wet.

She began patting thier back, consoling the two girls “Dear, Dear, little fellow, everything will be alright, Mommy will soon be with us soon. It just remains some matter of time” 

Elsa stopped crying and looked up at her elder sister “When will Mommy come home finally. We miss her so much”She said amongst sobs.

Before she could say any thing, Ellie quickly remembered something and chipped in “What about Daddy? We haven't asked about him from you.”

Eleanor couldn't configure what to say to them, it was confusing what happened to their father, but she would have to wait for twenty four hours before she could file a missing complaint to the police.

“I don't know what happened to Daddy he just went missing all of a sudden”

They stared at her with eyes screaming disbelief. “How can you be that sure Eleanor? Have you tried calling his phone?”

She shook her head negatively waiting for more ideas from this smart twins “Well, when we get home, I will try calling his number. Is that okay for you both?” She hacked and they both nodded in compliance.

Then Elsa chipped in “But if we don't see Daddy afterwards, then we can file a complaint at the police station after twenty fours hours ”

“What's a complaint?” A curious Ellie asked.

Elsa immediately hit her head in mockery “You don't know what a complain is, well as the smart one I'll tell you, it is when. someone says something in which he or she doesn't like means he or she is complaining”

Ellie glared back at her “Me not knowing the meaning if complain doesn't have to mean you get to hit my head” She replied immediately hitting hers back.

They began arguing but Eleanor stopped them both “Girls, Girls, stop fighting and leave in peace. You are sisters, so you don't have to fight. Is that correct”

Guiltiness made then nod thier head in shame, the Ellie spoke “I'm sorry Eleanor, but Elsa caused it”

“No, You caused it” They continued arguing again which made Eleanor frustrated.

She yelled at them and this time, in an angry way “Girls, I said you should stop arguing. Conflict doesn't solve one's problems, it only worsens it”

They both bowed thier head in shame.

“Now, apologise to each other” Eleanor commanded.

Elsa then faced Ellie “I'm sorry for hitting your head Ellie”

Ellie then replied “And I'm also sorry for hitting your head also. It wasn't right. You forgive me?”

“Yes I do” she replied and they both hugged it out.

Eleanor smiled “That's great, that's what we call love. Always remember that, okay girls?”

They nodded as Eleanor's phone rang, she looked up at it, and surprisingly it was an unknown caller ID.

She was at first shocked on why an unknown person would call her “Hello?” She said expecting someone to reply her from the other end.
