FALLING FOR THE ROGUE ALPHA
FALLING FOR THE ROGUE ALPHA
Author: Lakewood

Prologue

 AMELIA'S POV

Life came to make sense after I accepted the proposal of Chris, the soon-to-be Alpha. But before that, my world has been void and dark.

I had attempted suicide countlessly but was saved. I had my issues, but everything came tumbling when I lost my dad. He was my voice. After his death, I wasn't welcomed in the society and pack anymore.

It all started when my mum remarried. I wasn't comfortable with the idea of her getting a new mate, but she had assured me it was for our good.

It wasn't until a month after the death of my dad, mum returned home beaming. She told me the goddess had given her a second chance and had found a new mate, claiming he was capable of taking care of us.

I kicked against it and was mad at her, but she felt I was just being a baby and went ahead to invite him over.

I was shocked when mum introduced me as her niece. I assumed it wasn't intentional and tried correcting her but she ignored me.

Things started getting a little messy when my new dad began getting attracted to me sexually. I became a shadow of myself.

At one point, my stepdad betrayed the pack and we were forced to leave the city to the outskirts of the town built for defaulters.

I hardly met up with classes due to the distance of the school and making matters worse, I was the only young teen among hoodlums. My mum had the choice of leaving Mr. Henry, my new dad, and continuing with her old life, but she opted to go with him, leaving me with no alternative but to go with her also.

I lived the life of a castaway in my little pack due to the allegations placed against Mr. Henry as everyone thought he was my biological dad. We were fortunate not to be banished from the pack.

I was stigmatized and tagged as the girl with a bad fate by my peers, though we weren't co-equivalents. I was always astonished at why fate wasn't fair. My life was a mess, not only was I ridiculed by my peers, Mr. Henry was sexually abusing me with his friends included. I had to keep it private from my frail mother. I didn't want her to learn about it, I couldn't put up with watching the dismay and misery she would undergo.

Making matters worse, I was a late bloomer. I was 19 and hadn't shifted. The misery of being a lone wolf was unimaginable.

My cohort always treated me like trash, they felt I was a disgrace to them, I didn't have a friend, I sat alone, and was avoided like an epidemic. Even the teachers acted like I didn't exist.

Being an Omega wasn't the problem, but being a late bloomer and the daughter of a defaulter made the bullying worse.

There was a time I had to shave my hair due to the amount of gum placed in it by the bullies. Even my juniors bullied me, you won't blame me, I was fragile and helpless and couldn't stand up to them, they all had shifted. I was the only odd one in their midst.

No one ever stood up for me, not even the teachers. I would be bullied in their presence and they wouldn't say a word.

But everything took a new turn when Lucy, the Beta's daughter, decided to pour out her anger on me.

Despite Lucy being the Pack Beta's daughter, she acts like I never existed and wasn't interested if I was bullied or not. She was just focused on being the future Luna of our Pack, and I constantly assessed her fortune.

That's why I was confused when I heard my name in the PA system.

"Amelia Land, report to Miss Lucy's wing." A voice said, making my heart skip, as I wondered what I had done wrong.

Being invited to Lucy's lodge spelled danger. Sluggishly, I walked down the hallway, going towards the stairs.

"Finally the queen is here," Blair said, welcoming me with a punch, and the door shut behind me.

I stared at Lucy, but could only get a glimpse of her back.

"Hi Lucy," I whispered, gulping nothing.

"I'd love you to be truthful with these questions." She said while blubbering ignoring my greetings.

Was she crying? I thought, wondering how I was related to her situation.

I turned in fright as her minions stood guarding the door and I knew that I could only leave her room sane with a miracle.

"Go on!" I said finding my voice as I felt a wave of electricity surge through my body.

" You don't talk to her like that." Blair hissed while the others laughed.

"I'll go straight to the point." She said facing me.

" What's your relationship with Chris?" She probed dropping the bombshell as I stared, mouth agape.

"I don't understand," I whispered, confused at the question. Chris was in senior year, a class higher than mine, and I had never encountered him physically, though I've always had a sensation for him, but never dreamt of being in any form of relationship with him.

"I knew you would say that." She said winking at her minions as they pounced on me.

I couldn't scream or move as I was pinned down, and bruised all over till they were exhausted.

"Do you understand or you still don't?" She whispered squatting before me with a hammer in her hand when the door suddenly burst open.

"That will be enough Lucy." The masculine voice said as I suddenly had bumps, feeling his scent in the room as I wondered who it could be.

I was lost in my thoughts and didn't realize the hammer was coming in my direction. But before I could say a word, he had used his superhuman speed to stop her.

I tilted my head to see the face of my savior, but my blurry vision wouldn't let me as I struggled to stay awake.

I felt I was being suspended, but this time around the scent was different, it smelt of freesia in a damp moss, mixed with a moonflower, making me hot when I suddenly heard a voice whisper "Mate."
