Allies or Enemies?

Kylie lay on her bed with a small smile on her face. Clara Kingsman, Jack’s mother and Kylie’s guardian in the absence of her parents, had just left her room. The two had spoken for hours about how her Labour had gone, and it was safe to say that for Kylie, this talk had been very beneficial. Clara understood Kylie’s feeling’s better than anyone had so far, and she was quick to sympathize with her. She had spent most of the time comforting Kylie and assuring her that her feelings of guilt were proof that she was alive and warm, unlike the Undead. While she had said much of the same things that Michael and Davies had echoed long before her return to the family, for some reason, it sounded different coming from Clara’s mouth. Kylie could feel her heart regaining its light after speaking to Clara and while she had not forgotten the memory or feeling of her hands taking the lives of others, her heart was not heavily weighed down by that memory.
